The following figure shows the system configuration procedure.

The following explains which steps in the system configuration procedure must be performed depending on the purpose for configuring the system and.

If you are installing HA Monitor and configuring a system for the first time

Perform all the configuration steps shown in the figure.
If you are adding hosts

If you are adding hosts to an existing hot-standby configuration, perform all the configuration steps shown in the figure. You need one HA Monitor per host.
If you are adding servers

If you are installing HA Monitor Extension and adding servers to an existing hot-standby configuration, perform the configuration steps shown under Configuration steps when a server is added. The steps shown under Configuration steps when a host is added are not needed.

The step Create server start, termination, and monitoring commands is required only for added servers that will run in the monitor mode. In this case, creation of a server start command is required, but creation of server termination and monitoring commands is optional.

The steps Create program restart commands, Create and configure UAPs, and Create definition files (monitor-mode program) are required only for added servers that will run in the monitor mode and use the program management function.
