5.17 Application General tab

Use the Application General tab to the view the general information of the selected application. You can configure properties such as the application enable status on the domain, context root, and description of the selected application. You can also launch and redeploy the selected application.

The Application General tab displays the following dynamic item:

Sub title

Displays the name of the selected application.

The Application General tab displays the following General items in a sequence:

Name

Displays the name of the selected application.

Status check box

Displays a check box to enable or disable the selected application on the domain. If the selected application is enabled on the domain, then this check box is selected, else it is cleared.

Context Root text box

Displays the context root of the selected application. You can edit the text specified in this text box. This text box is blank for non-war applications.

Description text box

Displays the description of the selected application. If the description is not available, then this text box is blank. You can edit the text specified in this text box.

Location

Displays an expression which resolves to an absolute path on the server, where the selected application is deployed. The expression contains a string token of the format ${character-string}.

Libraries

Displays a comma-separated list of library JAR files. If there are no library JAR files, then this display item is blank.

The Application General tab displays the following action items:

Launch button

To launch the selected application, click the Launch button to display the Information dialog box. The Information dialog box is displayed only if any one of the following conditions are met:

  • The application is not enabled on the domain.
  • The application is not associated with any of the target servers.
  • The application is not enabled on any of its associated target(s).

If the above mentioned conditions are not met, then clicking the Launch button displays the Launch Application dialog box, where you can launch the application in a separate browser.

Redeploy button

To redeploy the selected application, click the Redeploy button to display the Redeploy Application dialog box, select the appropriate package file, and then click the OK button.

Apply button

To confirm and apply the values specified in the Status, Context Root, and Description display items of the selected application, click the Apply button to display the Apply Changes dialog box, and then click the OK button.
