A.2 Code mapping for special characters

The following table describes the mapping for conversion of special characters for Code Converter.

Code Converter supports three types of special characters provided by vendors: Windows special characters, IBM selected characters, and NEC-selected IBM extended characters. To use the IBM selected characters and NEC-selected IBM extended characters, you must define the user mapping.

Note 1

The numeric characters in the H/L column of the table are SJIS. The numeric characters in the column where the fonts are described are Unicode (UCS-2).

Note 2

The parts with thick borders only indicate the conversion from SJIS to Unicode (UCS-2). The conversion from Unicode (UCS-2) to SJIS is as described in (b) Mapping Windows special characters (from Unicode (UCS-2) to SJIS).
