F. Update installation of Application Server
This appendix describes the procedure for the update installation of Application Server. Update installation implies installing Application Server (same product) in an environment where Application Server is already installed.
With update installation, how the update processing is performed varies depending on the versions of the product to be installed and the product that is already installed. If both the products are of the same version, the installed product is overwritten; and if both the products are of different versions (such as when you install 11-00 in an environment where 09-00 is already installed), the version of the installed product is upgraded.
Also, if Component Container is installed and when you perform update installation of Component Container, an installer is used to migrate the user environment. For details on the handling of the user environment during an update installation, see 2.2.1(2) Handling the user environment when Component Container is installed.
