4.8.4 Notes on setting the HWSGracefulStopTimeout directive and the Manager stop watch time

Set the HWSGracefulStopTimeout directive on a logical Web server according to the conditions in the following table.

Table 4‒44: Notes on setting the HWSGracefulStopTimeout directive

No.

Cosminexus Component Container version

Whether WebSocket is used

Notes

1

Earlier than 11-00-01

--

You do not need to set the directive.#1

2

11-00-01 or later

Not used

To set the stop watch time to a value that is equal to or larger than the default value of the HWSGracefulStopTimeout directive, set 0 or a value larger than the stop watch time for the directive.#2, #3, #5

3

Used

For the HWSGracefulStopTimeout directive, set 1 or a larger value, or a value smaller than the stop watch time.#2, #4, #5

#1: The Manager automatically sets 0 for the HWSGracefulStopTimeout directive.

#2: Setting 0 for the stop watch time means that no timeout occurs. Do not set 0 for both the stop watch time and the HWSGracefulStopTimeout directive. If you do so, the system waits indefinitely if the Cosminexus HTTP Server cannot stop normally.

#3: The purpose of this setting is to prevent the Cosminexus HTTP Server from timing out before the stop watch time expires when the Manager stops by itself.

#4: The purpose of this setting is to prevent the Manager from forcibly stopping the Cosminexus HTTP Server if the Cosminexus HTTP Server does not time out before the stop watch time expires when the Manager stops by itself.

#5: For the KeepAliveTimeout directive, set a value smaller than the stop watch time.

If you specify settings from Smart Composer, use the KeepAliveTimeout parameter. For details about the KeepAliveTimeout parameter, see 4.10.2 Parameters used for setting up the definitions for the Web server in the uCosminexus Application Server Definition Reference Guide.
