1. Overview

When a networked system consists of a great many UNIX and Windows machines, managing the software resources across the whole system can be onerous and time-consuming. JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 - Agent and the other programs in JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 are designed to enable centralized management of all the software resources in a networked system.

This chapter describes the basic functions and configuration of a JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 system that uses the programs in the JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 series.
