12.3.3 Notes on holding a job
-
The JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 Job Hold dialog box opens only after you log on to Windows. Therefore, if a given time passes without logging on to Windows after you have started the personal computer, jobs might be executed.
-
The operation of an installation job for a package with the Run at next startup option specified differs between the case in which the OK button is clicked, and the case in which the dialog box display time elapses. The difference is as follows:
- When the OK button is clicked:
-
Downloading and installation of the package are executed as one operation.
- When the dialog box display time elapses:
-
Only downloading of the package is executed. Its installation will be executed at the next system startup.
-
While the file transfer from the connection destination is suspended, no jobs can be executed. Job execution is enabled when the file transfer is resumed.
-
The JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 Job Hold dialog box displays all jobs, including those originating from the server with which communication has been lost.
-
If, when the installation operation is executed for the held job, communication has already been lost with the server from which the job originated, the job will be deleted from the dialog box but the package will not be downloaded. The package is downloaded and installed only after the communication is resumed with the server from which the job originated and another job for which the job hold facility is enabled is executed.
