4.4.1 System Configuration window

The System Configuration window displays information about the physical configuration of the systems managed by JP1/IT Desktop Management 2. Before you execute a job in JP1/IT Desktop Management 2, you must use this window to define each system targeted by the job.

The left pane of the window displays the system hierarchy. The right pane contains the tabs listed below. You can use these tabs to select which information appears in the right pane.

These tabs also appear in the Destination window.

List tab

Displays a list of systems under the system selected in the left pane.

Attributes tab

Displays the attributes (such as the host ID and host name) of the system selected in the left pane. Update date/time shows the date and time the system configuration was last updated. The item for which an icon appears in the Key column is the node identification key of the host.

Installed Packages tab

Displays a list of packages installed by Remote Install Manager on the system selected in the left pane.

Important

In the left frame of the System Configuration window of Remote Install Manager, when you select hosts and perform the following operation, an intended result might not be attained. When you perform these operations, select hosts in the right frame of the System Configuration window and perform the operation.

  • Even if you press the F2 key to change a host name, you cannot change the name.

  • When you change a host name with the Rename menu or by pressing the F2 key, another host name is changed.

  • After changing a host name, the selected state of the host whose name has been changed is released.

  • After deleting a host with the Delete menu or by pressing the Delete key, when you change the host name to the name same as another host whose host name is deleted and then display the Attributes tab or the property, the information of the deleted host is displayed.

  • When a management relay server is deleted, message "System error has occurred" is displayed.

  • When you cut a host with the Cut menu or the Ctrl + X key and display the Attributes tab or the property of the cut host, the hosts that have the same name and same information are displayed. And then, the message "Item with same name already exists" or the message that indicates an item exists that has different capitalization from the destination name in the window in the destination route is displayed.
