13.2.5 Troubleshooting related to collection and management of performance data
Handle errors related to collection and management of Performance Management performance data as described below.
- Organization of this subsection
-
(1) The size of the PFM - Agent's Store database does not become smaller even though the data retention period was shortened
If the size of Store database version 1.0 has reached its maximum, shortening the data retention period does not reduce the file size. In such a case, shorten the retention period, back up the Store database, and then restore the database.
For details about how to specify the data retention period, see the chapter that describes management of operation monitoring data in the JP1/Performance Management User's Guide. For details about how to back up and restore the Store database, see the chapter that describes backup and restore processing in the JP1/Performance Management User's Guide.
(2) A messages, such as KAVE00128-E or KAVE00163-E is output to the common message log and the startup of Store database fails
Data integrity of the Store database might have been lost due to an unexpected stoppage of a PFM service or a forced shutdown such as power outage to the machine. Take the following actions:
-
If the Store database has been backed up, restore the Store database.
-
If the Store database has not been backed up, terminate the PFM system containing the Store service that cannot be started (the Master Store, Agent Store, or Remote Monitor Store service), initialize the Store database, and then restart the target PFM service that was stopped.
To initialize the Store database, delete all the files listed below from the Store database storage directory.
- If StoreVR is 1.0:
-
-
Files with extension .DB
-
Files with extension .IDX
-
- If StoreVR is 2.0:
-
-
Files with extension .DB
-
Files with extension .IDX
Delete all files under the STPI, STPD, and STPL directories.
(Retain the STPI, STPD, and STPL directories.)
-
The default Store database storage directory is as follows:
- Store database storage directory for performance data
-
For details, see 3.6.1 Changing the performance data storage location.
- Store database storage directory for event data
-
- If PFM - Agent for Enterprise Applications is not in a cluster environment:
-
-
Windows
installation-folder\agtm\store\instance-name\
-
Linux
/opt/jp1pc/agtm/store/instance-name/
-
- If PFM - Agent for Enterprise Applications is in a cluster environment:
-
-
Windows
environment-directory\agtm\store\instance-name\
-
Linux
environment-directory/jp1pc/agtm/store/instance-name/
-
(3) The message KAVF14173-W "The performance data cannot be reported. (record-ID[.field-name])" is output to the common message log
If connection dialogue instance of the SAP system does not have an MTE name for the acquisition, the field of some records is zero because this field does not exist in the connection-target dialog instance. This warning message is output even for a program that is not monitored.
If your SAP system employs an ASCS instance configuration, ignore this message.
