F.9 Performing an unsetup of NNM linkage

This appendix describes how to perform an unsetup of the NNM linkage facility. Perform an unsetup on all hosts on which NNM is installed.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Deleting the SNMP trap destination

  1. From the web browser on the monitoring console, log on to PFM - Web Console.

Log on from a user account that has Administrator permissions.

  2. In the navigation frame of the Main window, choose the Services tree tab.

  3. In the navigation frame of the Services tree window, choose the PFM - Manager folder.

  4. From among the PFM - Manager services, select a Trap Generator service.

A Trap Generator service is a service whose name begins with PC or <Trap Generator>.

A check mark is displayed next to the selected Trap Generator service.

  5. In the method frame, choose the Property method.

  6. From the properties displayed in a tree format in the Service Property window of the Trap Generator service, select the ADD OR DELETE A TRAP DESTINATION folder.

  7. In the DELETE A DESTINATION property displayed at the bottom of the information frame, from the pull-down menu, select the SNMP trap destination host name or IP address you want to delete.

  8. Click the Finish or Apply button.

The selected SNMP trap destinations folder under the Trap Destinations folder is deleted.

(2) Deleting PFM - Agent or PFM - RM symbols from NNM

Start ovw and delete the PFM - Agent or PFM - RM symbols.

(3) Executing the unsetup command

Execute the unsetup command provided by Performance Management. Executing this command deletes the environment settings for linking with NNM and stops the NNM linkage facility service.

The command to be executed is the jpcconf ov disable command.

(4) Deleting the information registered in NNM

Delete the definitions related to items that were not deleted by the unsetup command, such as NNM display.

Important

When operations (a) through (c) described below are executed, the symbols and events of PFM - Agent or PFM - RM will no longer be correctly displayed.

(a) Deleting MIB OID

From the ovw menu, choose Options and then Load or Unload MIB, and then unload jp1pc.oid.

(b) Deleting SNMP event definitions

  1. From the ovw menu, choose Options and then Event Settings.

  2. In the Event Settings dialog box, choose Enterprises and then PerformanceManagementTrap.

  3. Choose Edit, Enterprises, and then Delete to delete the event corresponding to the PerformanceManagementTrap enterprise.

  4. After you have deleted all events, choose Edit, Enterprises, and then Delete to delete PerformanceManagementTrap.

  5. Choose Edit and then Additional Actions.

  6. From the Edit Additional Actions dialog box, delete Performance Management Report.

(c) Deleting definition files

Delete the following files:

  • In Windows:

    NNM-installation-folder\fields\C\jpcovobj.frf

    NNM-installation-folder\snmp_mibs\vendor\Hitachi\jp1pc.oid

    Everything under the NNM-installation-folder\symbols\C\jp1pc folder

  • In UNIX:

    $OV_FIELDS/C/jpcovobj.frf

    $OV_SNMP_MIBS/Vendor/Hitachi/jp1pc.oid

    Everything under the $OV_SYMBOLS/C/jp1pc directory

$OV_XXXX indicates an environment variable defined in NNM.

For details about NNM environment variables, see the JP1/Cm2/Network Node Manager Network Management Guide or the HP NNM manual.
