F.4 Upgrading Performance Management programs

To upgrade Performance Management programs, perform overwrite installations of the Performance Management programs.

To upgrade Performance Management programs:

For programs other than PFM - Web Console

  1. Stop all services of Performance Management programs on the physical and logical hosts.

For details about how to do this, see the chapter in the JP1/Performance Management User's Guide that describes how to start and stop Performance Management.

  2. Perform an overwrite installation of Performance Management programs over the previous ones.

  3. Set up Performance Management to run.

  4. Restart the Performance Management linkage function.

    Tip

If you are upgrading a Performance Management product other than PFM - Web Console in a cluster environment, you have to upgrade the files stored on a shared disk as well. On either the executing or standby node, get the shared disk online at least once to upgrade the files stored on it. If PFM - Web Console is running on a cluster environment when you perform the upgrade, you do not have to place a shared disk online.

For PFM - Web Console

  1. Stop all services of PFM - Web Console on the physical and logical hosts.

For details about how to do this, see the chapter in the JP1/Performance Management User's Guide that describes how to start and stop Performance Management.

  2. Perform an overwrite installation of PFM - Web Console.

For details about installation, see Chapter 4. Installation and Setup (in Windows) or Chapter 5. Installation and Setup (in UNIX).
