A.2 Displaying PFM - Web Console

Organization of this subsection

(1) Number of View Report windows displayable in PFM - Web Console

The following table describes the estimated number of View Report windows displayable in PFM - Web Console.

(2) Maximum number of data items displayed in a report

In real-time reports, data from a maximum of 30 collection times can be displayed. To change the maximum number of data items displayed in a report, change maxRealtimeCache in the initialization file (config.xml).

(3) Number of displayed real-time reports

If multi-instance records are collected in PFM - Agent or PFM - RM, the maximum number of instances handled by a collection is 32,767.

(4) Number of fields displayed in a report

Although there are no restrictions on the number of fields in a report, the system might be unable to display the graph or legend in part or in its entirety when the report contains too many fields. We recommend that you set about 20 fields per report.

(5) Number of tiled charts displayed

By default, a report can display a maximum of fifty tiled charts. If tiling charts puts a heavy load on the server, separate the target bookmark into multiple bookmarks to reduce the number of charts to be displayed.

If you want to change the maximum number of tiled charts for a report, modify the maxTileReports value in the initialization file (config.xml).

(6) Number of user accounts that can log in concurrently

#1

When there are user accounts logging in to the PFM - Web Console window from Integrated Operation Viewer of JP1/IM2 (single sign-on) and also those logging in to the PFM - Web Console from another system, a total of 64 user accounts can concurrently log in to PFM - Web Console.

#2

The size of memory used by PFM - Web Console depends on the number of users logging in and the number of agents managed by the system. It is therefore necessary to estimate the size of memory required for PFM - Web Console. For details about how to estimate the size of memory required for PFM - Web Console, see Appendix C.7 Estimating memory size by taking into consideration the operating condition.

The following model cases show the approximate number of agents that can be managed by the system:

- Model case 1

<Example operation>

  • Memory size for PFM - Web Console: 1,536 megabytes#

  • Number of users logged in concurrently from PFM - Web Console: 64

  • Reports to be displayed: 1,440 records (default), 10-field historical reports

  • Number of business groups: 100

#: This equals the default memory size for PFM - Web Console plus the additional memory size needed for PFM - Web Console to link with JP1/IM2 (512 MB).

<Approximate number of agents that can be managed by the system>

  • When the report cache file function is enabled:

    150 agents

  • When the report cache file function is disabled:

    90 agents

- Model case 2

<Example operation>

  • Memory size for PFM - Web Console: 8,192 megabytes

  • Number of users logged in concurrently from PFM - Web Console: 64

  • Reports to be displayed: 1,440 records (default), 10-field historical reports

  • Number of business groups: 100

<Approximate number of agents that can be managed by the system>

  • When the report cache file function is enabled:

    1,190 agents

  • When the report cache file function is disabled:

    1,130 agents

#3

When the PFM - Web Console window is operated or the automatic update of the Agents tree and report window is performed simultaneously in multiple sessions, it might take longer for a response to be returned.

You can set the default automatic update setting for the Agents tree to disabled by using the defaultAutoRefresh parameter of the initial settings file (config.xml). The default setting is applied when users first log in to PFM - Web Console.
