5.3.12 Changing the physical host name of PFM - Web Console

If Performance Management is linked with JP1/SLM, before you start the procedure described below, see the section in the JP1/Performance Management User's Guide that describes the general procedure for changing host names after Performance Management has been linked with JP1/SLM.

  1. Stop the services on the PFM - Web Console host.

On the PFM - Web Console host connected to PFM - Manager for which you intend to change the host name, stop all Performance Management programs and services. To stop the services, use the jpcwstop command.

  2. If the PFM - Web Console host name has been changed in the settings of host names used for communications, change that host name to the new name.

This step applies if the PFM - Manager host cannot access the IP address used by the PFM - Web Console host. In this case, if the PFM - Web Console host name is specified in the initialization file (config.xml), change the host name to the new name.

For details about how to change host names, see the sections that describe settings of host names used for communications between PFM - Manager and PFM - Web Console and between PFM - Manager and JP1/SLM in the appendix of the manual JP1/Performance Management Reference.

  3. If the integrated management product (JP1/IM) is linked for operation monitoring, change the host name of the PFM - Web Console host at the following locations.

    • If a JP1 user event is used

Change the host name in the definition file for opening monitor windows and in the definition file for the tool launcher.

    • If a JP1 system event is used

Change the Monitoring Console Host property setting of JP1 Event Send Host to the new host name.

    • If Performance Management reports are set to be displayed from events in the Central Console

Change the PFM - Web Console host name specified in the performance report definition file (performance.conf).

For details about an integrated management product (JP1/IM), see the chapter that describes the linkage with the integrated management product JP1/IM for operation monitoring in the JP1/Performance Management User's Guide.

  4. If the job management product (JP1/AJS3) is linked for operation monitoring, change the host name.

Change the PFM - Web Console host name specified in the JP1/AJS3 - Web Console environment settings file (ajs3web.conf).

  5. Change the PFM - Web Console physical host name.

Change the PFM - Web Console physical host name. When the machine requires restarting, change the settings so that the Performance Management programs and services will not automatically start after the machine is restarted. After the PFM - Web Console host operation has finished, return the settings so that the Performance Management programs and services start automatically.

  6. If encrypted communication between a web browser and the monitoring console server is enabled, re-acquire a certificate.

You need to re-acquire a certificate using the changed host name.

For details, see 4.3.15 Changing the settings for encrypted communication between a web browser and the monitoring console server.

  7. Start the services on the PFM - Web Console host.

Start the Performance Management programs and services on the PFM - Web Console host connected to PFM - Manager for which you have changed the host name. To start the services, use the jpcwstart command.

  8. Restart the integrated management product (JP1/IM), if linking with JP1/IM.

You can also apply the settings by executing the JP1/IM jco_spmd_reload command. For details about this command, see the JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager Command and Definition File Reference.

  9. If the job management product (JP1/AJS3) is linked for operation monitoring, restart the JP1/AJS3 services.
