4.6.6 Escalating Items

You can pass Item information on to the next process when you escalate an Item.

Only the following users can perform these operations:

If the option to set view permissions for individual Items is enabled for the escalation source and destination work boards, the user can only work with Items for which he or she is an Item view permissions owner.

Note that you cannot escalate stored Items.

To escalate an Item:

  1. In the list of Items in the main window (Item list), select the Item you want to escalate.

    Select a process work board whose status is Operating. You cannot escalate an Item that is being edited by another user.

  2. From the menu, select Action and then Escalation.

    The Specify an escalation destination window appears. The following figure shows the window.

  3. Select the process to which to escalate the Item.

    You can escalate Items to another target system and process. Only process work boards in Operating status appear in the Specify an escalation destination window.

  4. Click OK.

    The New item window appears with the Item information from the escalation source already filled in.

  5. Edit the Item information.

    Enter the information for the Item to register at the escalation destination.

  6. From the menu, select Register.

    The Item is created in the process you selected, and you are returned to the main window (Item list).
