Stop the active event service, and then restart the event server you want. In a UNIX system, if the event service is running on the physical host, even if you attempt to stop the jevservice by using the kill command, processes of the JP1/SES compatibility function might not stop. In such a case, the event server cannot start and outputs this message.

Use the ps -el command to check whether the jesdmain and jesrd processes are active. If these processes are active, use the kill command to stop them, and then start the event service.
