4.14 Common Condition Detailed Settings window

The Common Condition Detailed Settings window is used to specify the detailed settings of a common condition. This window is displayed when the user clicks Add, Edit, or Browse in the Common Condition Settings window.

The following describes the items displayed in the Common Condition Detailed Settings window.

Common condition name

Displays the name of the selected common condition for changing the application status of the monitoring object. The name can be changed.

A character string having from 1 to 63 bytes can be specified.

Registration host

Specifies the name of a host that issues JP1 events.

Multiple character strings require a comma (,) as a separator. A maximum of 100 character strings can be specified. If a character string that includes a comma (,) or backslash (\) is specified, a backslash (\) must be added before the comma (\,) or backslash (\\). A linefeed or tab character cannot be specified.

From the drop-down list on the right, the user selects a condition for the specified character strings from Match, Does not match, First characters, Is contained, Is not contained, and Regular expression. If Regular expression is selected, only one condition can be set.

Severity

Specifies the severity levels of the JP1 events to be specified from Emergency, Alert, Critical, Error, Warning, Notice, Information, and Debug.

Object type

Specifies the object type of a JP1 event. The character string can be typed in the text box or selected from the drop-down list.

From the drop-down list on the right, the user selects a condition for the specified character string from Match, Does not match, First characters, Is contained, Is not contained, and Regular expression.

Object name

Specifies the object name of a JP1 event.

Multiple character strings require a comma as a separator. A maximum of 100 character strings can be specified. If a character string that includes a comma (,) or backslash (\) is specified, a backslash (\) must be added before the comma (\,) or backslash (\\). A linefeed or tab character cannot be specified.

Registration name type

Specifies the registration name type (root object type) of a JP1 event. The value can be typed in the text box or selected from the drop-down list.

Specifies the registration name (root object name) of a JP1 event.

Event type

Specifies the event type (occurrence type) of a JP1 event.

User name

Specifies the user name of a JP1 event. A character string having from 0 to 1,023 bytes can be specified.

Multiple character strings require a comma as a separator. A maximum of 100 character strings can be specified. If a character string that includes a comma (,) or backslash (\) is specified, a backslash (\) must be added before the comma (\,) or backslash (\\). A linefeed or tab character cannot be specified.

Message

Specifies the message text of a JP1 event.

From the drop-down list on the right, the user selects a condition for the specified character string from Match, Does not match, First characters, Is contained, Is not contained, and Regular expression.

Product name

Specifies the name of a program that issues JP1 events.

From the drop-down list on the right, the user selects a condition for the specified character string from Match, Does not match, First characters, Is contained, Is not contained, and Regular expression.

Event ID

Specifies the ID of a JP1 event as a hexadecimal number. You can specify a value in the range from 0 to 7FFFFFFF.

Multiple IDs require a comma (,) as a separator.

A maximum of 113 event IDs can be specified.

Extended attribute

This area is used to register extended attributes (names and values in pairs) for the common condition items other than Severity. The following are notes on registering extended attributes:

  • A maximum of five extended attributes can be registered.

  • Each extended attribute name must be unique. An extended attribute name that has already been registered cannot be used.

  • The length of each extended attribute name must be from 1 to 32 bytes.

  • Each extended attribute name must begin with an upper-case alphabetic character and can consist of upper-case alphabetic characters, numeric characters, and underscores (_). If a lower-case alphabetic character is entered, it is automatically converted to the corresponding upper-case alphabetic character.

  • The length of one extended attribute value must be from 1 to 1,023 bytes.

  • The total length of extended attribute values must not exceed 1,280 bytes.

  • Each extended attribute value must be specified as a regular expression. For details about regular expressions, see G. Regular Expressions in the JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager Overview and System Design Guide.

When the Add button is clicked, the specified values are added as one entry to the list box (extended attribute display field).

The user can edit or delete an entry listed in the extended attribute display field. The user edits an entry by selecting it in the field and then clicking the Edit button to display the Edit Extended Attributes window, where the selected entry can be edited. The user deletes an entry by selecting it in the extended attribute display field and then clicking the Delete button.
