4.7 Search window

The Search window is used to retrieve the monitoring nodes that satisfy the specified search conditions. Either of the following operations displays this window:

The following nine search conditions can be set. The conditions that are set are combined with the AND operator.

The following figure shows an example of the Search window.

The following describes the items displayed in the Search window.

Search start location

Displays the monitoring node on which the search is to be started.

Monitoring node name

Specifies a regular expression that is used to perform a search based on the monitoring node name. The user can specify a maximum of 1,280 bytes for the regular expression.

For details about regular expressions, see G. Regular Expressions in the JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager Overview and System Design Guide.

Monitoring node ID

Specifies as hexadecimal values the IDs of the monitoring nodes to be retrieved. The user can specify a maximum of 1,023 bytes for the monitoring node IDs. A maximum of 113 monitoring node IDs, separated by a comma (,), can be specified.

Monitoring node type

Specifies the type of the monitoring nodes to be retrieved. Either the Monitoring object or the Monitoring group radio button can be selected. If the Monitoring object radio button is selected, a drop-down list can be used to select a general monitoring object (user monitoring object) or system-monitoring object (such as AJS2 Monitoring Object or SSO Monitoring object). If blank space is selected, all types of monitoring objects are specified.

Status

Specifies the statuses of the monitoring nodes to be retrieved. The user can select Emergency, Alert, Critical, Error, Warning, Normal, Debug, and Initial.

JP1 resource group

Specifies the name of the JP1 resource group for which the search is to be performed. The user can specify a maximum of 1,280 bytes for the character string.

A regular expression can also be specified. For details about regular expressions, see G. Regular Expressions in the JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager Overview and System Design Guide.

This item is displayed when the logged-in user's monitoring range in the tree display area is set and enabled.

Monitoring status

Lets the user select Monitoring or Not monitoring as the monitoring status of the selected monitoring node.

Basic Information

Specifies the basic information of the monitoring nodes to be retrieved. A maximum of five items can be entered. When multiple items are specified, they are combined with the AND operator.

An item of basic information consists of two elements, a monitoring node attribute name and a monitoring node attribute value. Each element can have a maximum of 1,023 bytes. However, the total number of bytes that can be used to specify monitoring node attribute values is 1,280. Regular expressions can also be used to specify basic information.

To edit an item displayed in the list box, the user selects the item and then clicks Edit. The Edit Basic Information window opens, where the user can edit basic information. To delete an item of basic information from the list box, the user selects the item and then clicks the Delete button.

Status-Change Condition

Specifies the status-change conditions for the monitoring nodes to be retrieved. The Condition Name text box is used to enter a regular expression of 1,023 or fewer bytes. If this text box is blank, all monitoring nodes are retrieved.

Event-Issue Conditions

Specifies the event-issue conditions for the monitoring nodes to be retrieved. The user can select Emergency, Alert, Critical, Error, Warning, Normal, and Debug.

Search results list

When the Search button is clicked, the monitoring nodes that satisfy the specified search conditions are displayed in the list. The list can be sorted by status by choosing View from the menu bar of the Monitoring Tree window, Sort Status, and then Sorted. When Sorted is selected, the list is sorted by status (Emergency, Alert, Critical, Error, Warning, Normal, and Debug, and Initial, in this order).

Pop-up menu

A pop-up menu is available in the Search window opened from the Monitoring Tree window or Monitoring Tree (Editing) window. The pop-up menu is displayed when the user selects and right-clicks a monitoring node in the search results list. The following describes the items on the pop-up menu.

Change Status

This item appears on the pop-up menu when the Search window is opened from the Monitoring Tree window, and is used to change the status of the application associated with the selected monitoring node. One of the following statuses is marked with a check mark to indicate the current status, which the user can change by choosing another status:

  • Emergency

  • Alert

  • Critical

  • Error

  • Warning

  • Normal

  • Debug

  • Initial

Change Monitoring Status

Changes the monitoring status of the selected monitoring node. Either of the following statuses is marked with a check mark to indicate the current status, which the user can change by choosing the other status:

  • Monitoring

  • Not monitoring
