JP1 Version 12 JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager GUI Reference

3.29 View List of Filters window

The View List of Filters window displays a list of view filters. The list you create in this window appears in the Filter name drop-down list on the Monitor Events and Severe Events pages of the Event Console window.

The View List of Filters window is displayed when the user chooses View from the menu bar of the Event Console window and then View List of Filters.

When the user sets filter conditions in the Settings for View Filter window and clicks the OK button in the View List of Filters window, the filter conditions are converted into a filter condition statement, which then takes effect. The maximum total size of filter condition statements is 1 MB for each JP1 user. If the creation of a new filter condition statement causes the maximum size to be exceeded, an error dialog box displaying the message KAVB0246-E appears when the OK button is clicked. If the error dialog box appears, the filter condition settings must be reviewed. For details about how to estimate the length of a filter condition statement, see the Release Notes for JP1/IM - View.

The following figure shows an example of the View List of Filters window.

The following describes the items displayed in the View List of Filters window.

View list of filters

This area displays a list of view filters.

A maximum of 50 view filters can be set for each JP1 user. When 50 view filters have been set, the Add and Copy buttons are disabled.

Up

Clicking this button moves the view filter selected in the list up one line. You can improve the usability of the Filter name drop-down lists in the Monitor Events and Severe Events pages by moving frequently used view filters to the top of the list.

Down

Clicking this button moves the view filter selected in the list down one line.

Add

Clicking this button allows the user to add a new view filter. When this button is clicked, the Settings for View Filter window appears.

Edit

To edit a view filter that appears in the View list of filters list, selects the view filter and then click the Edit button. The Settings for View Filter window opens, where the user can edit the selected filter.

Copy

Clicking this button copies the selected view filter. When the user selects a view filter and then clicks the Copy button, a new view filter in which the same conditions as those defined in the selected filter is created and added to the list in the View list of filters area. The new view filter that is created is assigned the default name Copy original-filter-name, and is added to the list. After creating a copy of a view filter, if the user creates another copy of the same view filter, a number is added after the string Copy in CopyN original-filter-name (N is a number). The first number used is 2, which is incremented each time the same view filter is copied. The user can rename a view filter by clicking the Edit button.

Delete

Clicking this button deletes the selected view filter. When this button is clicked, a message dialog box displaying the following message appears:

KAVB0503-I

Clicking the Yes button in this dialog box deletes the selected event acquisition filter from the list in the View list of filters area.
