3.15 Common Exclusion-Conditions Settings window

The Common Exclusion-Conditions Settings window is used to set the event acquisition filter conditions (the conditions for acquiring events from the event service). Note that the window to be used to set common exclusion-conditions in extended mode is the Common Exclusion-Condition Settings (Extended) window. For details about this window, see 3.16 Common Exclusion-Condition Settings (Extended) window.

Any of the following operations displays the Common Exclusion-Conditions Settings window:

If no filter conditions are set:
  • In the Event Acquisition Conditions List window, click the Add button in the Common exclusion-conditions groups area.

If at least one filter is registered:
  • In the System Environment Settings window, select an item in the Common exclusion-conditions groups list and click the Configure button.

  • In the Event Acquisition Conditions List window, select an item in the Common exclusion-conditions groups list and click the Edit button.

  • In the System Environment Settings window, select and double-click an item in the Common exclusion-conditions groups list.

Note that the user must have JP1_Console_Admin permission to display the Common Exclusion-Conditions Settings window. If the function for restricting reference permissions and operation permissions is enabled for business groups, this operation might not be performed depending on the combination of the JP1 resource group and permission level. For details, see 4.1.4(2) Assigning a JP1 resource group and permission level to a JP1 user in the JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager Overview and System Design Guide.

When the user specifies common exclusion-conditions and then clicks the OK button in this window, the specified conditions are converted into a filter condition statement. The statement takes effect when the Apply button is clicked in the System Environment Settings window. If the error dialog box appears, the filter condition settings must be reviewed. For details about how to estimate the length of a filter condition statement, see the Release Notes for JP1/IM - View.

When no conditions (items under Conditions) have been specified for the common exclusion-conditions group set in this window, if the common exclusion-conditions group is applied, no JP1 events will be displayed (acquired). At least one condition must be specified in order to filter events.

The following figure shows an example of the Common Exclusion-Conditions Settings window.

[Figure]

The following describes the items displayed in the Common Exclusion-Conditions Settings window.

Common exclusion-conditions group ID

This drop-down list is used to select a common exclusion-conditions group ID. The drop-down list lists IDs from 0 to 29.

If a new common exclusion-condition is being added, an unused filter ID in the common exclusion-condition group list is automatically assigned in ascending order.

If the window has been displayed for the purpose of editing the common exclusion-condition selected in the common exclusion-condition group list, the common exclusion-condition group ID is displayed in this text box.

Common exclusion-conditions group name

Specifies the name of a common exclusion-conditions group. A character string from 1 to 50 bytes can be specified.

If the user selects an existing group in the Common exclusion-conditions groups area and specifies a new name, the common exclusion-conditions group is renamed.

If the user attempts to specify the name of an existing common exclusion-conditions group, the following message appears:

KAVB0256-E The specified condition group name already exists.

Clear

Clicking this button clears all condition settings displayed under Conditions.

Read From Selected Event

Clicking this button applies the attribute values of the JP1 event selected in the Event Console window to the corresponding items under Conditions. The following describes how the attribute values are applied:

  • When an event attribute value includes a control character (such as a linefeed or tab character)

The part before the first control character is applied. If an option condition can be specified for the event attribute, First characters is selected.

  • When an event attribute value does not include a control character

The entire event attribute value is applied. If an option condition can be specified for the event attribute, Match is selected.

If the information of the selected JP1 event is mapped in the Event-Information Mapping Definitions window, the attribute values for the display items and program-specific extended attribute values that have been mapped are not applied. For details about the Event-Information Mapping Definitions window, see 6.9.2 Displaying extended attributes of JP1 events (mapping of event information) in the JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager Administration Guide.

Source host

Specifies the name of a host (event server name) that issues a JP1 event. Business groups cannot be specified. Multiple host names require a comma as a separator. A maximum of 100 host names can be specified. If a character string that includes a comma (,) or backslash (\) is specified, a backslash (\) must be added before the comma (\,) or backslash (\\). A linefeed or tab character cannot be specified.

Alphabetic characters are case sensitive regardless of the -ignorecasehost option specification of the jcoimdef command.

From the drop-down list on the right, the user selects a condition for the specified character strings from First characters, Match, Does not match, Is contained, Is not contained, and Regular expression.

Event level

Specifies the severity levels of the JP1 events to be acquired.

The user can acquire all events for which a severity level has been defined by selecting the All events for which severity has been defined radio button.

If the user wants to acquire only events for specific severity levels, the user can select the Specify the severity radio button and then select the check boxes for the desired severity levels from Emergency, Alert, Critical, Error, Warning, Notice, Information, and Debug.

If the user wants to acquire JP1/SES events, the user can select the JP1/SES events radio button.

Note that if the user enables the function for changing the severity level when the integrated monitoring database is used, the column header is displayed as Original severity level.
