Note

Some of the items displayed in the Related Events (Correlation) window change if linkage with BJEX or JP1/AS is enabled. For information about the contents of the Related Events (Correlation) window when linkage with BJEX or JP1/AS is enabled, see 3.44.5 Related Events windows.

The following describes the items displayed in the Related Events (Correlation) window:

Display Items

This area displays the correlation event selected in the Event Console window (Monitor Events, Severe Events, or Search Events page) or in the Related Events (Summary) window. The items displayed in the Display Items area are the same as the items displayed in the Event Console window. If the display items in the Preferences window are changed, the items displayed in the Display Items area are also changed.

For the correlation event displayed in the Display Items area, as in the Event Console window, the user can display detailed information or change the status. If the event status is changed, the corresponding status icon is displayed in the leftmost column.

If the correlation event displayed in the Display Items area was selected on the Search Events page, the event might exist on a host different from the host on which the user has logged in with JP1/IM - View. If the displayed correlation event exists on a different host, the user cannot perform the following operation:

  • Changing the event status

  • Registering incidents in JP1/Service Support

To change the event status to Delete, the user must open the Related Events (Correlation) window from the Severe Events page, and check the information displayed after the Display window label to confirm that either of the following is displayed:

  • Severe Events

  • Severe Events - Related Events (Summary)

When the correlation event is deleted, the background color changes to gray.

Information is displayed in the Display Items area as follows:

  • The Coloring settings in the Preferences window are not applied to the Display Items area. The background colors defined for severity levels (Emergency, Alert, Critical, Error, and Warning) are not added.

  • If the display items in the Preferences window are changed, the items displayed in the Related Events list are also changed.

Display window

The name of the page from which the Related Events (Correlation) window was opened is displayed in the following format:

The following table lists the page names that can be displayed after Display window.

In page-name, either Monitor Events or Severe Events is displayed.

Related Events list

The Related Events list displays the correlation source events for the correlation event displayed in the Display Items area. The items displayed in the Related Events list are the same as the items displayed in the Event Console window. If the display items in the Preferences window are changed, the items displayed in the Related Events list are also changed.

For the correlation source events displayed in the Related Events list, as in the Event Console window, the user can display detailed information or change the status. If the event status is changed, the corresponding status icon is displayed in the leftmost column.

If the host that issued the correlation event is different from the host on which the user has logged in with JP1/IM - View, the correlation source events are acquired from the host that issued the correlation event.

If the correlation event displayed in the Display Items area was selected on the Search Events page, the event might exist on a host different from the host on which the user has logged in with JP1/IM - View. If the displayed correlation event exists on a different host, the user cannot perform the following operation on the correlation source events displayed in the Related Events list:

  • Changing the event status

  • Registering incidents in JP1/Service Support

To change the event status to Delete, the user must open the Related Events (Correlation) window from the Severe Events page, and check the information displayed after the Display window: label to confirm that either of the following is displayed:

  • Severe Events

  • Severe Events - Related Events (Summary)

When the correlation source events are deleted, their background color changes to gray.

  • A change in the status of the correlation event displayed in the Display Items area is not applied to any correlation source event displayed in the Related Events list. Likewise, a change in the status of a correlation source event displayed in the Related Events list is not applied to the correlation event displayed in the Display Items area. This is because a correlation event and its correlation source events indicate different phenomena.

  • The user can change the correlation event displayed in the Display Items area by selecting a new correlation event in the Event Console window, choosing View from the menu bar, and then choosing Display Related Event List.

  • In the Related Events (Correlation) window opened from the Related Events (Summary) window, if a consolidation event displayed in the Related Events (Summary) window is changed, the Related Events (Correlation) window closes automatically.

  • If the status of an event displayed in the Related Events (Correlation) window is changed in another window, the change is not applied to the Related Events (Correlation) window. The user can display the latest information by closing and re-opening the Related Events (Correlation) window.

When correlation source events cannot be displayed in the Related Events list

The following dummy events are displayed:

  • Dummy event for the message KAVB0352-E

This message appears when the correlation source events cannot be acquired because of an exception occurring in JP1/IM - Manager or JP1/Base

  • Dummy event for the message KAVB0341-W

This message appears when the event database does not contain the correlation source events.

  • Dummy event for the message KAVB0342-W

This message appears when the correlation source events are blocked by the event receiver filters.

Related information

Information about the correlation source events displayed in the Related Events (Correlation) window is displayed after this label. In Related Events (Correlation) window, Correlation source event (generation-condition-name) is displayed.

Number of displayed events

The total number of correlation source events is displayed after this label.

{0}/{1} events acquired

The progress of acquiring the correlation source events is displayed. {0} indicates the number of acquired events, and {1} indicates the total number of the correlation source events. The value {0} is incremented each time an event is added to the Related Events list.

If acquisition of correlation source events stops because of an error, the following message is displayed:

Acquisition of related events stopped.
