3.3 Severe Events page

The Severe Events page of the Event Console window also includes an event list, but one that contains only severe events. The following figure shows an example of the Event Console window with the Severe Events page opened.

Figure 3‒5: Event Console window (Severe Events page)

[Figure]

The following describes the items displayed on the Severe Events page:

[Figure] (Expand/Shrink button)

Clicking this button displays or hides the event display start-time specification area. The user can expand or shrink this area when the integrated monitoring database is used. The area is enabled when a JP1 event is registered in the integrated monitoring database. If the integrated monitoring database is not used, the area is disabled ([Figure]).

Display range

The range of arrival times of the listed JP1 events is displayed in the following format (Δ represents a space character):

  • If one or more JP1 events are displayed in the list:

Display range:Δarrival-time-of-the-oldest-JP1-event(displayed in the YYYY/MM/DDΔhh:mm:ss format)Δ-Δarrival-time-of-the-latest-JP1-event(displayed in the YYYY/MM/DDΔhh:mm:ss format)

  • If no JP1 events are displayed in the list:

    Display range:Δ-Δ

View Filter Settings...

Sets the view filter that defines the conditions for displaying JP1 events. Clicking this button displays the Settings for View Filter window.

Filter name:

A list box in which the user can select a view filter. The filter selected in this list box determines which JP1 events appear on the Severe Events page.

View filter

Use this check box to specify whether to apply the view filter selected in the Filter name list box. When you select this check box, the view filter is enabled and the list of JP1 events only shows those that meet the filter conditions.

Use specified display event period

If Specified display event period is enabled in the Preferences window, Use specified display event period appears as shown below.

[Figure]

Selecting this check box enables the event collection range setting function, and the list of JP1 events only shows those that meet the conditions.

For details on the event collection range setting function, see 4.18 Specifying the event display period in the JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager Overview and System Design Guide.

[Figure] Processed

Clicking this button changes the status of the selected severe events to Processed. When this button is clicked, [Figure] is displayed in the leftmost column of the selected severe events.

Users that have JP1_Console_Admin permission or JP1_Console_Operator permission can use this button.

Unprocessed

Clicking this button changes the status of the selected severe events to Unprocessed.

Users that have JP1_Console_Admin permission or JP1_Console_Operator permission can use this button.

[Figure] Processing

Clicking this button changes the status of the selected severe events to Processing. When this button is clicked, [Figure] is displayed in the leftmost column of the selected severe events.

Users that have JP1_Console_Admin permission or JP1_Console_Operator permission can use this button.

[Figure] Held

Clicking this button changes the status of the selected severe events to Held. When this button is clicked, [Figure] is displayed in the leftmost column of the selected severe events.

Users that have JP1_Console_Admin permission or JP1_Console_Operator permission can use this button.

Delete

Clicking this button deletes the selected severe events from the window, regardless of their status.

This button deletes the selected severe events from only the Severe Events page. It does not delete them from the Monitor Events page, Search Events page, and event database.

Users that have JP1_Console_Admin permission or JP1_Console_Operator permission can use this button.

Note that if the repeated event monitoring suppression function is enabled, deleting a consolidation event deletes consolidated repeated events that are among the oldest 100 and are not yet deleted. The rest of repeated events that were consolidated remain. The number of repeated events for a consolidation event does not change after repeated events are deleted.

After you delete an event in this way, you cannot display it again on the Severe Events page.

Event list

The event list displayed on the Severe Events page contains only the severe events among the JP1 events that are displayed on the Monitor Events page.

Note that the Source host item displayed on the Severe Events page corresponds to the Source event server name item displayed in the Event Details window.

The user can use the event list to change the status of the displayed events. The maximum number of events whose status can be changed at one time is 2,000.

When the integrated monitoring database is used, all JP1 events registered in the integrated monitoring database can be displayed.

When the integrated monitoring database is used, the user can use the event display start-time specification area. The following figure shows the event display start-time specification area.

Figure 3‒6: Severe Events page with the event display start-time specification area displayed

[Figure]

Event display start-time specification area

When the integrated monitoring database is used, the user can use the event display start-time specification area to specify the event display start-time of JP1 events to be displayed. This area is not displayed at login. If the integrated monitoring database is not used or if no JP1 events are registered in the integrated monitoring database, the user cannot open the event display start-time specification area. Note that if the user specifies a display start-time, the deleted severe events are also displayed, but with a background color that has changed to gray. Released severe events are not displayed.

If the user uses the display start-time specification area to search for events, the Status section in the display start-time specification area changes according to the search status and the search results. The following table describes how the Status section changes.

The following describes the items in the event display start-time specification area:

Event display start-time text boxes

Used to specify the start time for displaying the JP1 events. If the user enters the event arrival time for the JP1 events that the user wants to display in the text box, and then clicks the Display button, issued JP1 events arriving at or after the specified arrival time are displayed in the event list. By default, the base time for the day on which the user logged in to JP1/IM - Manager is displayed.

You can set the base time in the Base time fields in the Specified display event period area of the Preferences window.

If you are not selecting the Use specified display event period check box, the default base time (09:00) applies.

However, if the user logs in before the day's base time, the base time of the previous date is displayed.

You cannot specify a time that meets any of the following conditions in the event display start-time text boxes:

  • A time later than the arrival time of the latest event received by JP1/IM - View

  • If JP1/IM - View has not received any events, a time later than the arrival time of the latest event registered in the integrated monitoring database

  • If the Use specified display event period check box has been selected, a time outside the specified time period

  • A time earlier than the arrival time of the oldest event registered in the integrated monitoring database

Display

Displays JP1 events arriving at or after the time specified in the event display start-time text boxes.

Cancel

Interrupts the acquisition of the JP1 events to be displayed.

This button is disabled if the retrieval of events has finished.

[Figure] (Oldest Event button)

Displays the JP1 events registered in the integrated monitoring database with the oldest at the top. Note that if the Use specified display event period check box has been selected, events are displayed for the specified range with the oldest at the top.

[Figure] (Previous Event button)

Displays events starting with the one that immediately precedes the oldest event (excluding dummy events) in the event list area.

When the repeated event monitoring suppression function is enabled, repeated events are not displayed as consolidated events and the event preceding the oldest event in the list area is displayed.

If no JP1 events are displayed in the event list, this button is disabled.

[Figure] (Slider)

The user can specify the JP1 event display start-time by moving the slider to the desired position. Moving the slider to the left specifies an event display start-time that displays older JP1 events. Moving the slider to the right specifies an event display start-time that displays more recent JP1 events. The user can confirm the exact event display start-time by checking the text boxes above the slider.

When the most recent event is displayed, the slider is positioned at its rightmost position, and Most recent events appears above the slider.

[Figure] (Next Event button)

Displays events starting with the one that immediately follows the newest event (excluding dummy events) in the event list area.

If no JP1 events are displayed in the event list, this button is disabled.

[Figure] (Most Recent Event button)

Returns the events list to its original state before the user specified an event display start-time.
