JP1 Version 12 JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager Overview and System Design Guide

13.3.2 Configuration for centrally monitoring the systems with the Intelligent Integrated Management Base

Linking multiple systems with the Intelligent Integrated Management Base enables system administrators to understand the relationships between the systems and the relations between data within the system, thus resulting in fewer burdens on them. For example, if a failure occurs, they can grasp the status of the system easily, without waiting for reports from an infrastructure administrator, business operation manager, or contact person.

The figure below shows an example of a configuration for the Intelligent Integrated Management Base. The source management server needs to have the management tools and JP1/Base in order for the Intelligent Integrated Management server to collect data (business operation information and operating information). The source management server must also be registered in the system hierarchy managed by JP1/IM (IM configuration).

The following figure shows the configuration of the Intelligent Integrated Management Base.

The following products are required on each host:

Integrated manager (top-level manager)
  • JP1/IM - Manager

Runs the Intelligent Integrated Management Base.

  • JP1/Base

Management server
  • JP1/Base

Web browser
  • Integrated operation viewer

In the above example, the management servers use adapter commands to collect the statues of jobs and infrastructures of the managed systems, the Intelligent Integrated Management Base analyzes the data, and the integrated operation viewer shows it.
