2.5.2 Specifications related to character set conversion
This subsection describes specifications regarding how the mail filter application converts email containing Kanji or other multi-byte characters so that the JP1/AJS3 mail system linkage function can use the email.
If you want the mail system linkage function to handle email that contains Kanji or other multi-byte characters, it is necessary to convert its character set. Otherwise, the character set used in the email does not match that for the language with which JP1/AJS3 is running, thus failing to satisfy the condition for the email reception monitoring job. Create a mail filter application that converts the character set according to the language settings of the computer on which JP1/AJS3 is running.
JP1/AJS3 provides a sample shell script that converts a character set. To create a mail filter application, you can use and modify this sample. For details on the sample shell script, see 2.5.4 Sample shell script for a mail filter application.
