11.4.18 Changing the order in which scheduler services or job groups are displayed in the tree area and in the list area

You can set the order in which scheduler services or job groups are displayed in the tree area and in the list area of the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window).

This setting is available in JP1/AJS3 - View 11-00 or later. This function can be used regardless of the version of JP1/AJS3 - Manager to which JP1/AJS3 - View is connected.

Specification

Use the following format:

jajsJobgroupDisplayOrder={Change|Display|No} (return)

When Change is specified

Users can use the Set Display Order dialog box to set the order in which scheduler services or job groups are displayed in the tree area and in the list area of the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window).

When Display is specified

Users cannot display the Set Display Order dialog box. Any settings that have already been made in the Set Display Order dialog box remain in effect. If no settings have been made in the dialog box, the items displayed in the tree area and in the list area of the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window) are displayed in the same order as when No is specified.

When No is specified

Users cannot display the Set Display Order dialog box. Any settings that have already been made in the Set Display Order dialog box are ignored. The display order of scheduler services in the tree area of the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window) differs depending on the OS of the JP1/AJS3 - Manager host to which a connection is to be established. If the OS is Windows, the scheduler services are sorted by name in order of character encoding. If the OS is UNIX, the scheduler services are sorted in the order in which they were created. For job groups, the display order depends on the setting for the function for displaying units in the tree area in the same order as in version 10 or earlier. The job groups that are displayed in the list area are sorted by name in Unicode order.

The default is No. If you omit this setting, No is assumed. For details about the function for displaying units in the tree area in the same order as in version 10 or earlier, see 11.3.15 Displaying units in the tree area using the display order for version 10 and earlier.

Example

To allow users to set the display order of items in the tree area and list area of the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window) by selecting Options and then Set Display Order in the menu:

Procedure

1. Select an item in the area whose display order you want to set.

   You can select any item.

2. In the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window), select Options and then Set Display Order.

   The Set Display Order dialog box appears.

3. In the Set Display Order dialog box, select the Set Display Order check box.

4. Set the display order.

   Use the Up and Down buttons to sort the items in the Display order area in the order you want them to appear in the tree area and list area of the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window).

5. Click OK.

   The Set Display Order dialog box closes.

   Items in the tree area and list area of the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window) are now displayed in the order you set.

Cautionary notes

• Any units you add after setting the display order in the Set Display Order dialog box appear in the order in which they were added, after the units whose display order you set. This includes new units and units that were copied and pasted.

  When you click Refresh or re-open the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window), the newly added units appear in character code order after the units whose display order you set. The display order does not change when the window contents are automatically refreshed.

• If you rename a unit for which a display order is set in the Set Display Order dialog box, the display order setting no longer applies to that unit. In this situation, the position of the unit in the list will not change immediately. When you click Refresh or re-open the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window), the renamed unit will appear in character code order after job groups for which a display order is set. The display order does not change when the window contents are automatically refreshed. If you want to change the display order for the renamed unit, you can do so again in the Set Display Order dialog box.
