9.14.2 Canceling a release for a jobnet

To cancel the release for a jobnet:

  1. In the JP1/AJS3 - View window, in Function Menu, click Release Cancel.

    Release Cancel is now selected.

  2. In the tree area, click the job group that manages the jobnet for which you want to cancel a release.

The job group you clicked is now selected.

The subordinate root jobnets appear in the list area.

  3. Click the target jobnet, and then choose Operations and then Release Cancel.

A confirmation dialog box asking whether you want to cancel the release for the jobnet appears.

  4. Click the Yes button.

The release for the jobnet is canceled.

The definition whose status is Release wait is deleted.

Cautionary notes
  • You can cancel a release only for a jobnet that has a definition whose release status is Release entry wait, Release wait, or Delete wait.

  • You cannot cancel a release for the following jobnets:

    - Suspended jobnet

    - Jobnet whose status is Shutdown

    - Jobnet being edited

    - Jobnet on which another user is performing operations#

    #

If the other user's operation is to set or to release the hold attribute for units of a jobnet that is being applied, you can cancel a release for the jobnet.

  • You cannot cancel a release if the jobnet is registered for fixed execution with either a period or a date specified and its schedule is later than the release date. In such cases, cancel the registration or prohibit the execution of schedules after the release date, and then try again to cancel the release. Note, however, that if a number of future generations is also specified for the jobnet registered for fixed execution, you can cancel the release even when the schedule of the jobnet is later than the release date.

  • An error might occur if you do not cancel a release at least one day before the release date. If you intend to cancel a release, make sure that you do so well in advance.

  • Canceling a release significantly increases system load. If you intend to cancel a release, try to avoid times when the system is busy executing jobs.

Supplementary note

If the cancellation of a release fails, the status of the jobnet changes to Delete wait. You can delete the definition whose release status is Delete wait by trying to cancel the release again.
