9.5 Temporarily canceling the execution of jobnets and jobs

This section describes how to temporarily cancel the execution schedule of a jobnet or job.

You can also use the ajsplan command to temporarily cancel the execution of a jobnet or job. For details of the command, see the description of ajsplan in 3. Commands Used for Normal Operations in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Command Reference.

To temporarily cancel execution:

  1. In the JP1/AJS3 - View window, in Function Menu, click Status Monitor.

    Status Monitor is now selected.

  2. In the tree area, click the job group that manages the jobnet or job whose execution you want to cancel.

The job group you clicked is now selected.

The root jobnet appears in the list area.

  3. Click the target jobnet or the jobnet that manages the target job, choose View, Daily Schedule, and then Hierarchy.

The Daily Schedule (Hierarchy) window appears.

  4. In the tree area, click the target jobnet or job.

The jobnet or job you clicked is now selected.

  5. For the jobnet or job you selected in step 4, in the schedule area, click the colored mark for which you want to cancel execution. Alternatively, in the execution result list, click the line for which you want to cancel execution.

  6. Choose Operations, Change Plan, and then Execution Prohibited.

A confirmation dialog box asking whether you want to cancel the execution of the jobnet or job appears.

  7. Click the Yes button.

The execution of the jobnet or job is temporarily canceled.

    For the root jobnet:

If planned execution is registered, the current execution generation is deleted (the colored mark representing the current execution generation is deleted). The deleted execution ID is assigned to the next execution generation.

If fixed execution is registered, the next fixed schedule is deleted (the colored mark representing the execution generation of the fixed schedule is deleted).

    For nested jobnets or jobs:

The colored marks in the schedule area are deleted.

The change is also reflected in the execution result list.

Cautionary note
  • You can cancel execution only for jobnets whose status is Wait for start time, Wait for prev. to end, or Being held (that is, jobnets that have not started yet). If you cancel execution of a completed jobnet, the jobnet will not run when re-executed.

You can also use the ajsplan command to cancel the execution of a completed jobnet, specifying the jobnet's execution ID or execution registration number.

  • When you cancel execution of a jobnet, communications are exchanged and the database in JP1/AJS3 is updated. Therefore, if you select many jobnets and cancel execution all of them at one time, the overall burden on JP1/AJS3 is severe, and is likely to adversely affect operation due to processing delays and other problems. If you need to cancel executions of multiple jobnets, cancel them one by one at intervals of several seconds to several minutes.
