9.4 Immediately executing the execution schedule of a jobnet

This section describes how to immediately execute a jobnet whose status is Wait for start time.

A jobnet can be executed by ajsplan command immediately. For details of the command, see the description of ajsplan in 3. Commands Used for Normal Operations in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Command Reference.

You can also use the ajsplan command to immediately execute a jobnet.

To enable immediate execution:

  1. In the JP1/AJS3 - View window, in Function Menu, click Status Monitor.

    Status Monitor is now selected.

  2. In the tree area, click the job group that manages the jobnet you want to execute immediately.

The job group you clicked is now selected.

The root jobnet appears in the list area.

  3. Click the root jobnet containing the target jobnet, choose View, Daily Schedule, and then Hierarchy.

The Daily Schedule (Hierarchy) window appears.

  4. In the tree area, click the target jobnet.

The jobnet you clicked is now selected.

  5. In the schedule area, for the jobnet selected in step 4, click the colored mark that you want to execute immediately. Alternatively, in the execution result list, click the line that you want to execute immediately.

  6. Choose Operations, Change Plan, and then Execute Immediately.

The Immediate Execution dialog box appears.

  7. Specify how to handle the nested jobnets when the jobnet is immediately executed.

  8. Click the OK button.

The Immediate Execution dialog box is closed.

    The jobnet is executed immediately.

If you specify that a schedule is to be added in step 7, a colored mark is added in the schedule area and the colored mark is displayed in green (default) which indicates that the jobnet is being executed. If you specify that a schedule is to be moved in step 7, the colored mark (in the schedule area) of the time and date specified in step 5 is moved to the current time and displayed in green (default) which indicates that the jobnet is being executed.

The change is also reflected in the execution result list.

For details about how to immediately execute a jobnet in Wait for start time status, see 4.5.4 Executing a registered jobnet immediately in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Overview.

Cautionary notes
  • A manipulated nested jobnet is immediately executed when another execution condition is satisfied, for example, when the upper-level jobnet begins to be executed or the preceding job or jobnet is terminated.

  • You can immediately execute jobnets whose status is Wait for star time, Wait for prev. to end, or Being held (that is, jobnets that have not started yet). If the jobnet has completed, immediate execution will apply when the jobnet is re-executed.

You can also use the ajsplan command to immediately execute a completed jobnet, specifying the jobnet's execution ID or execution registration number.

  • If the target of the operation is a release-target jobnet, you can execute immediately only a definition whose release status is Being applied.

  • Immediate execution is performed at the date and time for which immediate execution is specified even if the 48-hour schedule is used in defining the schedule of a root jobnet. For example, if you immediately execute an execution schedule of 34:00 on August 1 at 8:00 on August 2, the schedule is executed as 8:00 on August 2, not as 32:00 on August 1.

Supplementary notes
  • The same result can be obtained by setting the execution start time of the jobnet to the current time instead of enabling immediate execution of the jobnet.

  • You can also immediately execute a jobnet in Wait for start time status in the following windows:

    - JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window)

    - JP1/AJS3 - View window (Summary Monitor window)

    - Monthly Schedule window

    - Jobnet Monitor window

    - Search window
