7.1.2 Registering a jobnet for fixed execution

The procedure of registering a jobnet for fixed execution is described below.

Note that you can also use the ajsentry command to register a jobnet for fixed execution. Specify one of the following options when you execute the ajsentry command:

To create the schedule information file that needs to be specified in the -p option, use the ajsschedule command. For details of the command, see the description of the command ajsentry in 3. Commands Used for Normal Operations in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Command Reference.

To register a jobnet for fixed execution:

  1. In the JP1/AJS3 - View window, in Function Menu, click Register for Execution.

Register for Execution is now selected.

  2. In the tree area, click the job group that will manage the jobnet you want to register for fixed execution.

The job group you clicked is now selected.

The root jobnet appears in the list area.

  3. Click the target root jobnet, choose Operations, and then Register for Execution.

The Register for Execution dialog box appears.

You can select multiple root jobnets at a time by clicking them while holding down the Ctrl key or Shift key. Selecting multiple root jobnets like this displays only one Register for Execution dialog box for all the root jobnets you selected.

  4. In Register method, select Fixed execution. Define the options for the fixed-execution registration as well.

For a root jobnet in a planning group, be sure to specify Fixed schedule period. Do not specify Future generation.

  5. Click the OK button.

The Register for Execution dialog box is closed.

The jobnet is registered for execution. Note that, in step 3, selecting multiple root jobnets causes all the selected root jobnets to be registered for execution with the same settings.

The jobnet execution starts according to the defined schedule.

Supplementary notes
  • You can also open the Register for Execution dialog box from the following windows:
