JP1 Version 12 JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Operator's Guide

7.1.1 Registering a jobnet for planned execution

The procedure of registering a jobnet for planned execution is described below.

Note that you can also use the ajsentry command to register a jobnet for planned execution. When doing so, make sure that you specify the -s or -f option in the ajsentry command. If you do not specify either of these options, the system assumes the -s option. For details of the command, see the description of the command ajsentry in 3. Commands Used for Normal Operations in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Command Reference.

To register a jobnet for planned execution:

  1. In the JP1/AJS3 - View window, in Function Menu, click Register for Execution.

Register for Execution is now selected.

  2. In the tree area, click the job group that will manage the jobnet you want to register for planned execution.

The job group you clicked is now selected.

The root jobnet appears in the list area.

  3. Click the target root jobnet, choose Operations, and then Register for Execution.

The Register for Execution dialog box appears.

You can select multiple root jobnets at a time by clicking them while holding down the Ctrl key or Shift key. Selecting multiple root jobnets like this displays only one Register for Execution dialog box for all the root jobnets you selected.

  4. In Register method, select Planned execution. Define the options for the planned-execution registration as well.

  5. Click the OK button.

The Register for Execution dialog box is closed.

The jobnet is registered for execution. Note that, in step 3, selecting multiple root jobnets causes all the selected root jobnets to be registered for execution with the same settings.

The jobnet execution starts according to the defined schedule.

Supplementary note

You can also open the Register for Execution dialog box from the following windows:

  • Daily Schedule (Hierarchy) window

  • Monthly Schedule window
