2.4.1 Cold starting the manager host

Cold-starting the manager host initializes the registered execution-schedule information for jobnets and execution information for jobnets and jobs. When performing a full system backup, first execute the ajsrgexport command to back up the registered execution-schedule information for jobnets. You can then use the ajsrgimport command to restore this information to the recovered system.

If you choose to cold-start the manager host rather than the agents, perform a full system backup and recovery as below.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Back up registered execution-schedule information for jobnets and perform full system backup

  1. Execute the ajsrgexport command to back up the registered execution-schedule information for jobnets.

    For details, see from step 2 in 3.4.4 Procedure for using the ajsrgexport command to export the registered execution-schedule information for jobnets.

  2. Stop the JP1/AJS3 services.

  3. Perform a full system backup.

  4. Start the JP1/AJS3 services.

(2) Recover the registered execution-schedule information for jobnets and full system

  1. Stop the JP1/AJS3 services.

  2. Restore the full system backup.

  3. Cold-start the JP1/AJS3 services.

  4. Execute the ajsrgimport command to restore the registered execution-schedule information for jobnets.
