This section describes the background necessary for installing JP1/Base and JP1/AJS3.

Organization of this subsection

(1) About administrator privileges

In this manual, "administrator privileges" refer to the execution privileges of the built-in administrators of local PCs.

For the users who have administrator privileges for local PCs, operations do not vary in local user, domain user, and Active Directory environments.

(2) About the Start menu

When Windows 8.1, Windows 8, or Windows Server 2012 is used, the operations to start windows and dialog boxes from the Start menu depend on the types of OSs used.

The operation methods for each OS are as follows:

In Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2:

Click the down-pointing arrow icon to display the Apps screen.

In Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012 (except Windows Server 2012 R2):

Right-click on the Start screen to display the All Apps screen.
