1.5.3 Notes on Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome operation
-
Do not log in to Navigation Platform from multiple accounts on the same PC.
-
Do not use multiple Operational Content Editing Windows on the same PC. This includes different browser instances and different tabs in the same browser instance.
-
Do not use the Back button in your browser when working in Navigation Platform. The information displayed after doing so might not be current.
-
Do not use the F5 key or the Refresh button to refresh your browser window while executing operational content. If you use the F5 key or the Refresh button to refresh your browser, any data you have input will be lost. Refreshing your browser window can also cause other issues such as an inability to log out or a Page Has Expired error.
-
If you enter more than 1,024 characters in a text box, some of the character string might not be visible on screen. We recommend that you specify a number less than 1,025 as the maximum number of characters that can be entered in a text box.
-
If the message below appears when you are using your web browser, wait until the action that is in progress finishes. Do not click the Recover webpage button. If you click the Recover webpage button to interrupt the current action, Navigation Platform might not work correctly.
host-name is not responding.
-
In some cases, the message in a message dialog box might extend past the bottom of the screen, making the OK button inaccessible. In this situation, you can use one of the following methods to close the message dialog box:
-
Click the × button at the top right of the message dialog box.
-
Make sure that the message dialog box is the active window, and press the Enter or Esc key.
-
-
When closing an Operational Content Editing Window or Operational Content Execution Window, use the Close or Logout button in the Navigation Platform interface, not the × button at the top right of the browser window. However, if a print preview is displayed in your web browser when you click the Close button, the screen might become blank or the browser might not close. In this case, use the × button to close the browser window.
-
If you use the same web browser instance used for the previous Navigation Platform session to continue working in Navigation Platform, Windows might output the following warning message:
Out of Virtual Memory. Your system is low on virtual memory. To ensure that Windows runs properly, increase the size of your virtual memory paging file. For more information, see Help.
If you encounter this message, close your web browser and then open it again.
-
If your web browser displays an error message or buttons become unresponsive, close the window you are using, close the window you are using, log in again, and then repeat the operation you were performing. If the problem recurs, contact maintenance personnel.
-
If you use the rectangle select function to select parts or connectors and then press the Delete key, the selected items might not be deleted. In this case, delete the items by clicking the Delete button on the toolbar.
-
When a character string that includes successive symbols is displayed in the Navigation Platform window, the string might not wrap to the next line. In this case, make the text visible by resizing the browser window.
-
If you repeatedly operate each item in the Select Dashboard window from a Web browser, the screen may not be displayed correctly or the Web browser may exit. In that case, restart the web browser.
-
If the web browser does not respond for over 10 seconds, reload the page and try again.
