JP1 Version 12 JP1/Navigation Platform Setup and Operations Guide

4.3.1 JP1 resource groups supported by Navigation Platform

The following two types of JP1 resource groups can be used in Navigation Platform:

Organization of this subsection

(1) About a JP1 resource group that is set system-wide

A system-wide JP1 resource group is a JP1 resource group that is set only once in a Navigation Platform System (environment). The JP1 permission level set within this JP1 resource group is applied to all operations across the entire system.

(2) About the name of a JP1 resource group that is set system-wide

The name of a system-wide JP1 resource group for a particular system is specified in the property ucnp.base.server.jp1auth.system.resource.group in the user property file (ucnp_user.properties). If nothing is specified for the property ucnp.base.server.jp1auth.system.resource.group, a system-wide JP1 resource group is assumed to have the name *.

When deciding on the name of a system-wide JP1 resource group, consider whether there will be multiple environments.

For example, in a case where the editing environment and the execution environment are separated, or where there are multiple execution environments, you can set a different system-wide JP1 resource group for each environment. Using different names for the system-wide JP1 resource group in each environment can make system management easier in circumstances such as the following:

Even if there will be multiple environments, we recommend using the same system-wide JP1 resource group name in all environments in cases where the same permissions will be given to the same users in all environments.

(3) About JP1 resource groups that are set in Operational Content

JP1 resource groups that are set in an Operational Content are valid for the Operational Content in which they are set. The JP1 permission level set within such a JP1 resource group applies only to the Operational Content in which it is set. Up to 10 JP1 resource groups can be set for one Operational Content.

Note that the system-wide JP1 resource group always applies to an Operational Content, even when no JP1 resource groups specific to that Operational Content have been set.

(4) About the names of JP1 resource groups that are set in an Operational Content

Specify a name that is not * and that is different from the property ucnp.base.server.jp1auth.system.resource.group in the user property file (ucnp_user.properties).

A maximum of 64 characters can be used, restricted to single-byte alphanumeric characters and the underscore (_). These names are case sensitive.
