3.2.1 System configuration considerations
Navigation Platform can be set up on three types of server machines: a server for the execution environment (the Operational Content Execution Window), a server for the editing environment (the Operational Content Editing Window), and a server for the development environment. The execution environment server machine is where users access Operational Contents that have been created in the editing and development environments. When deciding on a system configuration, the following points must be taken into consideration:
-
Whether you need to develop plugins and custom windows
-
The number of users who will edit Operational Contents#
-
The number of users who will maintain (modify) Operational Contents#
-
The number of users who will interact with Operational Contents#
-
Whether users will interact with Operational Contents on an iPad
-
Whether Navigation Platform will be linked with other JP1 products (whether a JP1 Link Plugin will be used)
-
Operational Content access management (whether an authentication server will be used for user authentication)
- #
-
Make sure there will be no more than 300 users per server.
For example configurations in which these factors are taken into account, see 3.2.3 System configuration examples.
