1.2.1 Flow of tasks

The following figure shows the flow of tasks that are required from the deployment of Navigation Platform to the usage of Navigation Platform in your operations.

The following is an overview of the tasks shown in the figure.

Organization of this subsection

(1) System management

The following is an overview of the system management tasks.

Tasks to be performed

The system management tasks are listed below. For details about system management, see Part 2. Setup and Part 3. Usage.

  • Set up Navigation Platform

    Install Navigation Platform in your system and set it up. Also set up the directory server, which is prerequisite software.

  • Use Navigation Platform

    Use the system on which Navigation Platform was set up.

  • Use Operational Contents

    Publish the Operational Contents created in the editing environment so that they are available for use in the execution environment, and introduce into the editing and execution environments the plugins and custom windows developed in the development environment.

    In addition, if you are using user authentication, plan in advance which Operational Contents you want to make visible to which users. Then, based on the plan, create and set access permission groups when creating Operational Contents.

Environments for performing the tasks

These tasks are performed in the execution environment, editing environment, and development environment.

Users who perform the tasks

These tasks are performed by users with Administrator privileges in Windows and users with system administrator privileges in Navigation Platform.

In the Navigation Platform documentation, users who perform system management tasks are called system administrators.

(2) Editing Operational Contents

The following is an overview of the Operational Content editing tasks.

The Operational Content editing tasks are listed below. For details about editing Operational Contents, see the manual JP1/Navigation Platform Content Editing Guide.

  • Create Operational Contents

  • Edit the Operational Contents that have been created

Environments for performing the tasks

These tasks are performed in the editing environment. The editing environment is accessed through a web browser.

Users who perform the tasks

These tasks are performed by users with administrator or editor access rights to the Operational Contents.

In the Navigation Platform documentation, a user who has permission to access an Operational Content as a manager is called a Content Manager, and a user who has permission to access an Operational Content as an editor is called a Content Editor.

When JP1/Base is used for user authentication, a user who has permission to access an Operational Content as a creator is called a Content Creator.

(3) Development

The following is an overview of the development tasks.

  • Development and improvement of Plugins (I/O, Suspend/Resume, and Custom Window)

Environments for performing the tasks

These tasks are performed in the development environment.

User who performs the tasks

These tasks are performed by users with Administrator privileges in Windows.

(4) Execution of operations

The following is an overview of the operational execution tasks.

Tasks to be performed

Execute operations while processing an Operational Content. For details about execution of operations, see the manual JP1/Navigation Platform Content Editing Guide.

Environments for performing the tasks

These tasks are performed in the execution environment. The execution environment is accessed through a web browser.

Users who perform the tasks

In the Navigation Platform documentation, individuals who execute operations are called users.
