JP1 Version 11 JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Operator's Guide

A.11 Monitor screen

The Monitor screen displays lines which show the relations between units, which you can use to check the relations between a unit and its subordinate units. You can also perform operations such as Change Hold Attribute, Interrupt, and Rerun.

You can display the Monitor screen by accessing a URL. This URL can be copied by using JP1/IM - View or by using the Monitor dialog box.

The following figure shows the Monitor screen.

[Figure]

The Monitor screen consists of two main areas:

Tree area

Defined jobnets are displayed in a tree. If you select a jobnet in the tree area, the map area displays the units under the selected jobnet.

Map area

Units under the jobnet selected in the tree area are displayed. In the tool tip of the icon for a unit, you can check the unit name and the comment defined for the unit.

If automatic refresh is enabled, the Monitor screen is refreshed every 5 minutes, starting from the time that automatic refresh is enabled.

The operations that can be performed in the Monitor screen are the same as those that can be performed in the Monitor dialog box. For details about the Monitor dialog box, see A.10 Monitor dialog box.

If you log in from the Login screen and then display the Monitor screen, the Log Out button is displayed instead of the Close button.

Cautionary notes
  • The Monitor screen opens only if the relevant unit or generation exists.

  • If the full name of the target unit contains many multibyte characters, Internet Explorer might not be able to open the Monitor screen because the length of the URL might exceed the browser's upper limit. If Internet Explorer cannot open the Monitor screen, try using Firefox. If you want to use Firefox, you will need to set Firefox as the default browser.

  • If, for a certain length of time, no operations are performed in the Monitor screen and the Monitor screen is not refreshed, the session times out. If the session times out, an error message appears, and the web browser closes.

  • In Firefox, the following operations or events that usually cause the web browser to close, instead cause the Login screen being displayed:

    - Clicking the Log Out button or the Close button on the Monitor screen.

    - An error that usually causes the web browser to close (such as an invalid session error).

Note that the Login screen might not be displayed if an error occurs during the startup of the Monitor screen. If the Login screen is not displayed, manually close the web browser.
