Format of record explanations
This chapter describes the records for PFM - Agent for Service Response in alphabetical order. Each record explanation contains the subsections described below.
- Organization of this page
Function
Provides an overview of the performance data that is stored in the record, and includes important information that should be noted.
Default and changeable values
Consists of a table of the default values for the performance data under the collection conditions defined for the record; also indicates whether or not each value can be changed by the user. The table below lists and describes each item that is included in Default and changeable values. For details about the items described in this table, see the chapter that describes management of operation monitoring data in the JP1/Performance Management User's Guide.
Item |
Description |
Changeable |
---|---|---|
Collection Interval |
Shows the performance data collection interval (in seconds) |
Y: Changeable N: Not changeable |
Collection Offset |
Shows the offset value for starting performance data collection (in seconds). For details about the offset value, see the chapter that describes management of operation monitoring data in the JP1/Performance Management User's Guide. For details about the start time of performance data collection, see the chapter explaining the functions of Performance Management in the JP1/Performance Management Planning and Configuration Guide. |
|
Log |
Shows whether or not collected performance data is stored in the Store database: Yes: Stored (however, if Collection Interval=0 is set, collected performance data is not stored) No: Not stored |
|
LOGIF |
Shows any conditions for storing collected performance data in the Store database |
|
Over 10 Sec Collection Time#1,#2 |
Whether the collection of records might require 10 seconds or more. Yes: Might require 10 seconds or more. No: Does not require 10 seconds. |
- #1
-
This property is displayed if the collection of historical data is prioritized over the display processing of real-time reports. For details, see the chapter on troubleshooting in the JP1/Performance Management User's Guide.
- #2
-
The value of this item is an approximation at best. Depending on the environment being monitored, the configuration, the load status, and even the collection of records whose value is No might require 10 seconds or more. In such cases, real-time reports might not be displayed.
In addition, depending on the collection interval and offset settings, real-time reports might not be displayed if the collection of historical data takes place successively for multiple records, even when the collection time for each record is short.
ODBC key fields
These fields display the primary keys that are necessary to use the data retrieved from records stored in the Store database on either PFM - Manager or PFM - Base. Some ODBC key fields are common to all records, and some are specific to particular records. This section presents the ODBC key fields that are specific to the particular record. Only multi-instance records have specific ODBC key fields.
For details about the ODBC key fields common to all records, see List of ODBC key fields in this chapter.
Lifetime
Indicates the period during which consistency is guaranteed for the performance data that is collected in the record. For details about the lifetime, see the chapter that describes the functions of Performance Management in the JP1/Performance Management System Configuration and User's Guide.
Record size
Indicates the amount of performance data that can be collected and stored in the record at one time.
Fields
Provides a table that describes the record's fields. The table contains the following columns:
-
View name (Manager name)
-
View name
Indicates the field name (PFM - View name) that is displayed with PFM - Web Console.
-
Manager name
Indicates the field name (PFM - Manager name) to be specified in SQL statements used from PFM - Manager to access the field data stored in the Store database.
You specify the record ID at the beginning of an SQL statement. For example, to specify the Total Response Time (TOTAL_RESP_TIME) field of the DNS (PI_DNS) record, specify PI_DNS_TOTAL_RESP_TIME.
-
-
Description
Explains the performance data that is stored in the field.
-
Summary
Indicates the method (summarization rules) to be used by Agent Store when summarizing data. For details about summarization rules, see Summary rules later in this chapter.
-
Format
Shows the data type of the field's values, such as char or float. For details about the data types, see List of data types later in this chapter.
-
Delta
In contrast to data collected as a cumulative value, the so-called delta is data that indicates the change in the values. For details about delta, see Field values later in this chapter.
-
Data source
Identifies the method used to obtain the field value or the source of the data. For details about field values, see Field values later in this chapter.
