7.2.2 Create New Web Transaction window

When a new Web transaction is to be created, this window is used to specify the name of the Web transaction file at the intended storage destination, and a name for the Web transaction. To display this window, in the Web Recorder (main) window, from the Transaction menu, choose New.

The following describes the displayed items.

Web transaction file name:

Specifies the name of the Web transaction file at the storage destination (as up to 255 bytes). If the new Web transaction is to be saved in an existing Web transaction file, you can select that file's file name from the pull-down menu. Any spaces, tabs, or linefeed characters preceding or following the entered character string are deleted.

Web transactions to be measured can be saved in a single Web transaction file or different Web transaction files. Use either one according to the user's Web transaction management method.

Web transaction files are stored in the following folder:

installation-folder\agtv\probe\webtrans

New Web transaction name:

Specifies a name for the new Web transaction to be created (as up to 255 bytes). Any spaces, tabs, or linefeed characters preceding or following the entered character string are deleted. The vertical bar character (|) cannot be used in a Web transaction name. The specified Web transaction name must be unique within the specified Web transaction file.

Comment:

Specifies any comment of your choosing (as up to 255 bytes). Any spaces, tabs, or linefeed characters preceding or following the entered character string are deleted. This item can be omitted.

Encoding of the Web transaction file:

Specify the encoding of the web transaction file. From the pull-down menu, select Shift_JIS, EUC-JP, ISO-2022-JP, UTF-8, US-ASCII, or GB18030^#. When on Japanese OS, Shift_JIS is selected by default, when on Chinese OS, GB18030 is selected, and when the other OS, US-ASCII is selected.

The encoding you specified here is reflected in the XML declaration (i.e. the first line of the Web transaction file).

GB18030 supports only in Chinese OS and you cannot use the 4 bytes characters.

Note:

When the Web Recorder automatically records the message body, it is recorded as it is (in other words, not encoded).

Since PFM - Agent for Service Response records the page information (such as URL or the page title) in US-ASCII, the encoding of the page information in the Web transaction file can be inconsistent with the encoding you specified here.

In this case, modify the encoding of the page information part in the Web transaction file as you specify here.

Give a step ID automatically. check box

Select this check box if you automatically give step IDs to steps recorded in a newly created Web transaction file. This check box is selected by default.

The format of the automatically given step ID is concatenation of the string specified in the Prefix and five-digit number (zero padding). For example, when you specify STEPID_ as the Prefix, the automatically give step IDs are:

STEPID_00001, STEPID_00002, ...,STEPID_99999

Prefix:

Specify the prefix of the step ID within the range from 1 to 250 alphanumeric characters, hyphen, underscore, and space characters. You are required to specify the prefix when you select the Give a step ID automatically. check box. Any spaces, tabs, or linefeed characters preceding or following the entered character string are deleted

Note:

If you give a step ID automatically, note the following:

• The setting of Give a step ID automatically. applies only to the automatically recorded steps (i.e. the steps without step IDs) in the newly created transaction. Step IDs are not automatically given to manually inserted steps.

• If the sequence number reaches its maximum number (99999), step IDs are not given to the subsequent steps.
