4.3.2 Defining measurement conditions
You use PFM - Web Console to define measurement conditions for measuring an Internet service in the measurement condition registration file (esptask.xml) (or you can edit the file directly and define the conditions).
This subsection describes the Internet services that can be specified as measurement targets, the measurement items, and how to create a measurement condition registration file.
- Organization of this subsection
(1) Measurement target and measurement items
The following table lists the standard Internet services supported by PFM - Agent for Service Response and the measurement items for each service.
Measurement target service |
Measurement items |

For details about the measurement items for each service, see 10. Records.
(2) Creating the measurement condition registration file (esptask.xml)
To specify measurement conditions for the target Internet services, you must create a measurement condition registration file (esptask.xml). You can define measurement condition registration file in PFM - Web Console. The measurement condition registration file contains settings common to all services, as well as settings specific to individual services.
The following table lists and describes the settings that are common to all services.
Item |
Description |
---|---|
Measurement condition ID |
Specifies an identifier for the measurement condition. Each measurement condition ID must be unique. |
Measurement interval |
Specifies a measurement interval. |
Timeout |
Specifies the timeout value for each measurement. |
Service-specific conditions |
Specifies definitions for the target service. |
The items common to all services include settings such as the measurement interval and a timeout value for the target service. Measurement conditions are managed by the measurement condition IDs. You can register the same measurement condition for the same target service under different measurement condition IDs in order to treat them as separate measurement conditions. For details about the service-specific settings and the measurement condition registration file, see 8.3 Measurement condition registration file (esptask.xml).
You save the created measurement condition registration file in the following folder:
