11.1.1 Agent's menu items for the distribution by using Remote Installation Manager
The system with JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 - Agent installed generates the following program folders in the Start menu:
-
JP1_IT Desktop Management 2 - Agent folder
-
ITDM2_Startup folder
The system generates the ITDM2_Startup folder when you perform the following operation in the Settings module of the Window Operations window of JP1/IT Desktop Management 2:
Choosing Agent, Agent Configuration and Installation Set Creation, Add/Edit Agent Configuration, Startup settings, and then Create the startup folder (ITDM2_Startup) for only IT Desktop Management 2.
The following describes the roles of individual program folders and menu items:

(1) JP1_IT Desktop Management 2 - Agent folder
The following describes the items (stored in the JP1_IT Desktop Management 2 - Agent folder) that users use to run JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 functions:
-
This menu item starts Package Setup Manager, which is used to remotely install software (distributed from the managing server) on a managed computer, as instructed on the managed computer. Package Setup Manager enables you to perform the following operations:
-
Selecting and installing software on a managed computer
-
Checking the software packages installed on a managed computer
For details about how to install software by using Package Setup Manager, see 11.4 Operating Package Setup Manager.
-
-
This menu item is used to register a managed computer in an ID group. For details about how to register a managed computer in an ID group, see 11.2.1 Registering a managed computer in an ID group.
(2) ITDM2_Startup folder
The ITDM2_Startup folder delays the starting of specific startup programs, in order to prevent them from starting at the same time as when remote installation is performed using JP1/IT Desktop Management 2.
Programs registered in the Windows Startup group start at the same time as Windows startup. Therefore, those programs cannot be upgraded by using the Install when the system starts option. Move startup programs that might be upgraded by remote installation to the ITDM2_Startup folder.
Note, however, that some application programs might fail to be uninstalled if their shortcuts are placed in the ITDM2_Startup folder (for example, as in the case of Microsoft Office Shortcut Bar). To avoid this problem, do not move shortcuts for such application programs to the ITDM2_Startup folder.
For details about moving startup programs, see the description of agent settings in the Job Management Partner 1 Version 10 Job Management Partner 1/IT Desktop Management 2 Configuration Guide.
