9.5.1 Deleting a job
The following section describes the flow of deleting a job, steps to delete a job, and notes on deleting a job.
- Organization of this subsection
(1) Flow of deleting a job
If you delete a job from an upper system, and if the job was already transferred to a lower system, the job downloaded to the lower system will also be deleted. The following figure shows a job deletion flow.
-
You delete a job called Job A in the managing server.
If you display Jobs Being Deleted in the Job Status window, Job A, to be deleted, is displayed with (Now being deleted).
-
Job A, which has been transferred to the relay manager/system, is deleted.
Because the Job A has been transferred to a lower system, the Job A with (Now being deleted) remains in the Job Status window.
-
Job A, which has been transferred to each of the managed computers, is deleted.
After it is reported to the managing server that Job A has been deleted from the entire system, Job A disappears from the Job Status window.
(2) Deleting a job
This section describes how to delete a job in the Job Status window. Once deleted, the job cannot be recovered. If you delete a folder, all jobs and lower-level folders inside the folder will also be deleted.
-
Bring up the Job Status window, and select a folder or job you want to delete.
The selected folder or job is highlighted.
-
Select Edit and then Delete.
A deletion confirmation dialog box appears. Clicking the Cancel button closes the dialog box without deleting the selection.
(3) Important notes on deleting a job
Note the following when you delete a job:
-
A job that has an execution date and time set up on the Schedule page appears both in the Job Definition window and the Job Status window. If you want to delete such a job before the specified date and time, you need to delete it not only from the Job Status window but also from the Job Definition window.
-
If you perform a deletion operation to a job already being deleted, the system forcibly deletes the job without waiting for the relay manager/system or managed computers to delete the job. Depending on the force deletion timing, the job may be forcibly deleted from the managing server before the job deletion is instructed to the relay manager/system or managed computers. In this case, the jobs that are sent to the relay manager/system or managed computers may be executed without being deleted. You can check if the job deletion request has been instructed to the relay manager/system or managed computers by the numeric value of the maintenance code displayed in the job details.
-
If the third and fourth value from the beginning of the maintenance code is 10:
The deletion of the job has been instructed.
-
If the third and fourth value from the beginning of the maintenance code is 20:
The deletion of the job has not been instructed.
-
-
If the Display when a job fails check box is selected in the Display settings for notification dialog boxes section in the User notification settings in the agent settings, and when you delete a job whose execution status is Waiting for execution or Communication error, an error dialog box may appear on the distribution destination system.
-
If you delete a Send package, allow client to choose job from the Job Status window, the package will also be deleted from the package list in the package setup manager job.
