FTP operating environment and notes

A FTP probe acquires a measurement file from the measurement-target FTP server, or transfers a prepared measurement file to the measurement-target server and measures the time required for file transfer. The measurement file must already be stored in the following folder:

The following describes and provides notes on a FTP operating environment.

Handling of the transferred file

Handling of the transferred file depends on the transfer direction, as described below:

UPLOAD
If the file to be transferred has the same name as a file in the home directory of a user at the target FTP server, the file is overwritten. Therefore, the total size of the data in the target measurement file does not keep increasing.

DOWNLOAD
Data in the acquired file is discarded each time measurement is completed.

Data type during transfer

The FTP probe supports only the ASCII data type during transfer.

RFC compliance

For the functions that are not compliance with RFCs and the restrictions, see the above notes.
