1.7 Alarms window
The Alarms window is used to create, copy, and edit alarm tables and alarms. To display this window, in the navigation frame of any PFM - Web Console window, choose the Alarms tab.
Only a login user with the administrator user permission can display this window.
The following figure shows the Alarms window.
The following describes the displayed items:
- Menu bar frame

Displays a menu that is common to all windows.
For details, see the description of the menu bar frame in 1.3 Main window.
- Navigation frame

Displays the alarm hierarchically.
Except for the following items, the display items are the same as the items in the navigation frame of the Main window. For details, see 1.3 Main window.
- Text box
-
Use this text box to filter alarm tables or alarms by keywords. Note that you cannot use the filtering function for PFM - Manager version 09-00 or earlier.
Specify a character string of 1 to 1,024 characters to filter the alarm tables or alarms that will be displayed. To use multiple conditions for an AND search, delimit keywords by using a single-byte space, a two-byte space, or a tab. A delimiter is counted as one word. The maximum number of words that can be entered as filtering keywords is 100.
- Filter button

Filters alarm tables or alarms by using the string specified in the text box.
- Clear button

Clears the filtering status and the filtering condition.
- Alarms tree

The root differs depending on whether the functionality for displaying alarm trees separately is enabled or disabled.

Alarms
The following objects are displayed in the second and lower levels of the hierarchy:

Second level of the hierarchy
Displays alarm folders for each PFM - Agent or PFM - RM program that has been set up.

Third level of the hierarchy
Displays alarm tables prepared as monitoring templates for each PFM - Agent or PFM - RM, and alarm tables optionally created by users. The monitoring templates are prepared for each data model version.

Fourth level of the hierarchy
Displays the alarms defined in each alarm table.

- Icons
-
An icon is displayed to the left of each component of the alarms tree. For details about icons, see Table 1-9 Configuration component icons and their meaning.
These icons have the following meanings:

: Indicates the root.

: Indicates an alarm folder.

: Indicates an alarm table.

: Indicates an alarm.

- Method frame
-
Displays the operations that can be executed on the alarms tree. The operation items that are displayed depend on the selected object.
- Properties

Displays the properties (definition) of the selected alarm. This item is displayed when an alarm is selected in the navigation frame. Choosing this item displays the Service Properties window.
- New Alarm Table

Creates a new alarm table under the selected alarm folder. This item is displayed only when the following item is selected in the navigation frame:

Choosing this item displays the New Alarm Table > Main Information window.

- New Alarm

Creates a new alarm under the selected alarm table. This item is displayed only when the following item is selected in the navigation frame:

Choosing this item displays the New Alarm > Main Information window.

- Copy

Copies the selected alarm table or alarm. This item is displayed only when the following item is selected in the navigation frame:

When the functionality for displaying alarm trees separately is disabled
An alarm table or an alarm created by a user
Selecting this item displays the Copy window. If the functionality for displaying alarm trees separately is enabled, the alarm table or alarm you selected is copied to the applicable alarm folder under the User Alarms folder. If the functionality is disabled, the alarm table or alarm you selected is copied to the same location as the copy source alarm table.

- Edit

Edits the selected alarm's definition. This item is displayed only when the following item is selected in the navigation frame:

An alarm created by a user
Choosing this item displays the Edit > Main Information window.

- Delete
-
Deletes the selected alarm table or alarm. This item is displayed only when the following item is selected in the navigation frame:

When the functionality for displaying alarm trees separately is disabled
An alarm table or an alarm created by a user
When this item is selected, a message box for confirming the deletion intent is displayed. If an alarm table is selected as the deletion target, all the alarms under it are also deleted.

- Activate
-
Enables the active setting to be specified for the selected alarm table or alarm. This item is displayed when an alarm table or alarm is selected in the navigation frame.
Choosing this item displays the Active Setting window.
- Show Bound Agents

Lists the monitoring agents that are bound to (associated with) the selected alarm table. This item is displayed when you select an alarm table in the navigation frame.
Choosing this item displays the Show Bound Agents window.
- Export
-
Exports the definitions under the selected alarm folder or alarm table.
This item is displayed when the root, an alarm folder, or an alarm table is selected in the navigation frame. If you select the root, all definitions under the root folder are exported.
Choosing this item displays a dialog box for selecting the file output destination, enabling you to save the export results in a desired folder.
- Import

Imports alarm definitions from a specified import file.
Choosing this item displays the Import window.
- Information frame

Displays the results of the operation selected in the method frame on the object selected in the navigation frame.
