2.3.7 Displaying events
Events that occur in the Performance Management system can be checked from the PFM - Console Event Monitor window. The following three types of event information can be checked from the Event Monitor window:
-
Agent events:
Events that indicate changes in the agent status
-
Alarm events:
Events that indicate alarms being triggered by agents
-
Health check events:
Events that indicate changes in the health check status of the monitoring agent
- Reference note
-
You can also check the health check status in the Event Monitor window.
The Event Monitor window displays a list of events in the order they occurred. You can check the agent status, alarm status, and health check status based on the icon color and appearance.
To display events:
-
In the menu bar frame of the main window, select the Event Monitor menu.
The Event Monitor window is displayed.
Figure 2‒8: Example of the Event Monitor window If a report is associated with an alarm event, a report icon is displayed in the Report column. Clicking the icon displays the associated report in a separate window.
For example, if a report is checked because an alarm occurred, you can analyze from the report that the CPU usage has increased due to a particular program.

What should be done to display a report from the event monitor
Reports linked to alarms cannot be viewed from the event monitor unless the report is defined as such when the alarm is defined. For details about how to edit alarms and link reports, see the chapter that describes operation monitoring with alarms in the Job Management Partner 1/Performance Management User's Guide.
