2.1 Background of performance monitoring

Company H has a large-scale internal system because the company is a retailer with branches across the country. Company H introduced a new Internet marketing system in order to start selling products online. Online sales were good and the number of users of the system continues to increase.
Company H's Information Systems department used Performance Management to configure a performance monitoring system in order to track the operation status of the Internet marketing system and to resolve any issues before they became problems.
The Internet marketing system runs on a Windows server.
The following figure gives an overview of Company H's entire system.
