3.1 Installation (in Windows)

This section describes how to install the programs that make up JP1/AJS3 - Print Option on a Windows host.

You must have Administrators permission to install the programs.

Quit all programs.

Quit all programs before you install JP1/AJS3 - Print Option.
Insert the supplied media into the CD-ROM drive.

Install JP1/AJS3 - Print Option as prompted by the Installer.

During installation, set the following items:
- User information
- Installation folder
  
  Do not install JP1/AJS3 - Print Option in the same folder as another product.
- Program folder

Notes:

Make sure that the access permissions for the installation folder are set correctly. The program will not operate correctly if a user does not have write permission for the installation folder. Non-administrator users do not have write permission for the default installation folder. If a user without administrator permission will be using JP1/AJS3 - Print Option, grant the user write permission for the installation folder and all its subfolders.
You can install JP1/AJS3 - Print Option in any folder. However, the total of the following must not exceed 258 bytes:

The installation folder path length

The path names of the files and folders created by each program

- JP1/AJS3 - Print Option: 80 bytes

- JP1/AJS3 - Print Option Manager License: 20 bytes

If you are installing the products in a folder you created, the path name of that folder
If you install JP1/AJS3 - Print Option as a non-Administrator in a Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Vista environment with User Account Control (UAC) enabled, promote the account to administrator status before you begin.
