Job Management Partner 1 Version 10 Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Operator's Guide

11.7.21 Changing the method for starting the Jobnet Monitor window when JP1/AJS3 - View is started from JP1/AJS3 Console View

When starting the Jobnet Monitor window for AJS3 unit monitored objects in JP1/AJS3 Console View, you can change how to start the window.

Previously, you had to generate a new process whenever you started the Jobnet Monitor window. This setting, however, eliminates the need for generating a new process and you can start the Jobnet Monitor window from the JP1/AJS3 - View that has been started. Changing the startup procedure this way helps reduce the time required for startup and the amount of memory required.

Specify from:

A JP1/AJS3 - View file (User-specified option file)

For details, see 11.1.1 Types of customization methods.

Specification

Use the following format:

jajsJobnetMonitorExec={all|main} (return)

With all specified

If, with the target host of AJS3 unit monitored objects, you see a JP1/AJS3 - View that has already been connected, you must use the login information for this JP1/AJS3 - View to start the Jobnet Monitor window. This means that the JP1 user logging in to JP1/AJS3 Console View might be different from the JP1 user starting the Jobnet Monitor window.

Specify all when there is no need to consider user authentication and other security factors.

With main specified

If, with the target host of AJS3 unit monitored objects, the JP1/AJS3 - View that has already been connected is the JP1/AJS3 - View window that has been started from JP1/AJS3 Console View, you must use the login information for this JP1/AJS3 - View window to start the Jobnet Monitor window. Based on this, a specific JP1 user can start the Jobnet Monitor window.

Specify main when there is need to consider user authentication and other security factors.

If you omit this setting, a new process is generated whenever the Jobnet Monitor window is opened.

Cautionary notes
  • After changing this setting, do not forget to restart JP1/AJS3 - View and JP1/AJS3 Console View. Doing so will enable the setting when you next start JP1/AJS3 - View and JP1/AJS3 Console View.

  • This setting is valid only when the same character string is assigned to the name of the target host of AJS3 unit monitored objects and the name of the connection host used by JP1/AJS3 - View at login. The specification for the host name and the specification for the IP address are treated as different hosts.

  • Do not use this setting if a remote jobnet is specified for the target unit of AJS3 unit monitored objects.

  • When different JP1 users use JP1/AJS3 Console View and JP1/AJS3 - View, enabling this setting requires you to assign all or main to the individual JP1 users.

  • When JP1/AJS3 - View has been started for different users by using the Fast User Switching feature in Windows XP, you must specify main because the Jobnet Monitor window might appear somewhere other than on the display showing JP1/AJS3 Console View.

  • With this setting, when the system is in use, you must close all the dialog boxes (including the message box) that are currently being displayed in the JP1/AJS3 - View that was started before the Jobnet Monitor window, from JP1/AJS3 Console View.

  • Make sure that the Jobnet Monitor window appears in the forefront when it has been started from JP1/AJS3 Console View.

Example

To open the Jobnet Monitor window using the login information of an already existing instance of JP1/AJS3 - View (if there is one):

jajsJobnetMonitorExec=all (return)
