The following figure gives an overview of the setup required for disaster recovery operation when using different names for the main-site and remote-site logical hosts.

Before starting setup, check the following:

Make sure there are available shared disks that can be used for the copy and mirroring functions.
When you set up prerequisite products and related products in the logical host environment at the main site and the remote site, select only products that support the disk copy and mirroring for the copy destination.

Make sure that copying between shared disks has stopped.
If copying between shared disks is in progress, use the hardware to stop it.

Make sure that remote volumes are write-enabled.
