6.10.1 Stopping tasks (execution stop)

This subsection describes how to stop execution of a task that is in progress. Stopped tasks enter Failed status.

Who can perform this task:

Users in the Admin role, Develop role, Modify role, or Submit role

To stop execution of a task:

  1. In the left pane of the Tasks window, click All Tasks.

  2. In the right pane (Tasks view) of the Tasks window, select the task of which execution you want to stop.

You can select multiple tasks by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking.

    Important note

Because clicking task-name opens the Task Details dialog box, select tasks by clicking in the white area except task-name.

  3. From the More Actions menu, choose Stop Tasks.

  4. In the Stop Tasks dialog box, verify the tasks you want to stop, and then click the OK button.

  5. In the Information dialog box, click the OK button.

Stopped tasks enter Failed status.

You can check the status of tasks in the Status column of the Tasks view. In addition to the task status, you can check the status, start time, and end time of steps in the Task Details dialog box, or in the Task Monitor view.

The start time and end time of tasks, information on executed plug-ins, and failure information can be checked in the task log or public log.

Important note

If a user stops execution of a task while the last plug-in of the task is running, the task terminates normally.
