Job Management Partner 1 Version 10 Job Management Partner 1/Integrated Management - Manager Administration Guide

5.1.9 Checking repeated events and consolidated events and changing the response status

You can view detailed information about repeated events and consolidated events. You can also change the response status similarly to the case with monitoring repeated events. To change a response status, you need JP1_Console_Admin permission or JP1_Console_Operator permission.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Viewing detailed information about a repeated event and changing the response status

  1. Consolidate repeated events.

For details on how to consolidate repeated events by suppressing monitoring of repeated events, see 5.1.6 Suppressing monitoring of large numbers of events by setting repeated event conditions.

For details about how to consolidate repeated events by configuring the consolidated display of repeated events function, see 5.1.8 Displaying consolidated events when events with the same attributes occur consecutively.

  2. On the Monitor Events page or Severe Events page of the Event Console window, select a consolidated event.

  3. In the Event Console window, from the View menu, choose Display Related Event List#.

The Related Events (Summary) window appears.

  4. In the Related Events area, right-click a repeated event and choose Event Details from the popup menu.

The Event Details window appears. Review the content of the repeated event as needed.

If you have enabled repeated event monitoring suppression, the 101st and subsequent repeated events do not appear in the Related Events (Summary) window. The Events that cannot be displayed area of the Related Events (Summary) window displays the arrival time of the 101st repeated event, and the arrival time of the last repeated event.

To view the 101st and subsequent repeated events, search for events with the arrival times displayed in the Events that cannot be displayed area specified as a search condition. For details on how to search for events, see 5.5 Searching for JP1 events.

  5. To change the response status, right-click a repeated event in the Related Events area of the Related Events (Summary) window, and select the response status you want to assign in the popup menu.

The response status of the repeated event changes.

This does not change the response status of the consolidated event into which the repeated event is consolidated. Because the consolidated event now contains repeated events with different response statuses, ! is displayed as the response status for the consolidated event.

For details on the types of response status and the corresponding icons, see 5.1.4 Displaying the response status of JP1 events.

You cannot select this menu command when:

  • Multiple events are selected on the Monitor Events or Severe Events page

  • A non-consolidation event is selected

(2) Viewing detailed information about a consolidated event and changing the response status

  1. Consolidate repeated events.

For details on how to consolidate repeated events by suppressing monitoring of repeated events, see 5.1.6 Suppressing monitoring of large numbers of events by setting repeated event conditions.

For details about how to consolidate repeated events by enabling the consolidated display of repeated events function, see 5.1.8 Displaying consolidated events when events with the same attributes occur consecutively.

  2. View the consolidated event on the Monitor Events page or Severe Events page of the Event Console window.

When events are consolidated, a consolidated event is displayed as shown below.

Figure 5‒2: Example of displaying consolidated events

    [Figure]

    Summary Status

The Summary Status column shows the repetition count. The repetition count indicates the total number of consolidated events and repeated events. Nothing is displayed for non-consolidation events.

    • For consolidation completion events

      The repetition count is displayed.

If you have enabled repeated event monitoring suppression, the repetition count is within a range from 1 to 1,000,000.

If you have enabled consolidated display of repeated events, the repetition count is within a range from 1 to 100.

      [Figure]

    • For events being consolidated

A repetition count and the + symbol, indicating consolidation in progress, are displayed.

A value from 1+ to 99+ is displayed. For example, when the repetition count is 1 (only a consolidation start event), 1+ is displayed. When the repetition count is 2 (a consolidation start event and 1 repeated event), 2+ is displayed. On the Severe Events page, if the consolidation start event has already been deleted and there are no repeated events, 0+ is displayed.

      [Figure]

When you open the Related Events (Summary) window or delete consolidated events, the following is displayed:

    • When the consolidation start event is deleted

If you delete the consolidation start event on the Severe Events page of the Event Console window, that event is considered deleted, and Del is displayed to the right of the repetition count.

      [Figure]

Subsequently, when event consolidation is completed and events become deleted non-consolidation events, they are no longer displayed on the Severe Events page of the Event Console window.

    • When repeated events are deleted

When the consolidated display of repeated events function is used, if you delete repeated events from Related Events in the Related Events (Summary) window, the repetition count for consolidated events is reduced by the number of repeated events deleted.

When the repetition count for consolidation completion events reaches 1 because of deletion of repeated events, the remaining event becomes a non-consolidation event. Furthermore, if that non-consolidation event is already deleted, it is no longer displayed on the Severe Events page of the Event Console window.

When the repeated event monitoring suppression function is used, even if you delete repeated events, the repetition count for consolidated events is not reduced.

    Response status display:

A response status icon indicating the response status of a JP1 event is displayed in the far-left column.

The response status icon types and contents are the same as those displayed on the Monitor Events page and Severe Events page of the Event Console window.

If the response status of a consolidated event is different from the response status of repeated events, ! is displayed in the response status display.

When you use the repeated event monitoring suppression function, ! is displayed if the 1st to 100th repeated events (the 1st being the oldest) do not all have the same status. It is not displayed if they all have the same response status. If more than 100 events are consolidated, a different status among the 101st and subsequent events does not cause the ! symbol to appear.

When you use the consolidated display of repeated events function, ! is displayed if the response status differs among repeated events.

    [Figure]

    Action

When the function for suppressing automated actions is being used, an icon indicating the action suppression status is displayed in the Event Console window.

    [Figure]

    Action that was suppressed

    [Figure]

    Action that was partially suppressed

If a large number of events occur while the corresponding action is suppressed by the repeated event monitoring suppression function, [Figure] is displayed in the Event Console window.

When the action status of a consolidated event is different from the action status of a repeated event, ! is displayed as the action suppression status.

    Type

If a large number of events occur while events are being suppressed by the repeated event monitoring suppression function, the icon [Figure] appears in the Event Console.

Pages in the Event Console window

If a large number of events occur while events are being suppressed by the repeated event monitoring suppression function, the icon [Figure] appears on each page of the Event Console window.

  3. On the Monitor Events page or Severe Events page of the Event Console window, select a consolidated event.

  4. In the Event Console window, from the View menu, choose Event Details#.

The Event Details window appears. Review the content of the consolidated event as needed.

  5. To change the response status, select a consolidated event on the Monitor Events page or Severe Events page of the Event Console window and perform one of the following operations:

    • Display the View menu, and choose the response status you want to assign from the sub-menu.

    • Right-click the consolidated event, and choose the response status you want to assign from the popup menu.

The response status of the consolidated event changes. The response statuses of all repeated events that have been received up to that point are also changed to the same response status. However, if the repeated event monitoring suppression function is used and 101 or more repeated events are consolidated, the response statuses of the 101th and subsequent repeated events are not changed.

The response status does not change for repeated events received after you change the response status. As a result, those repeated events have a different response status, and ! is displayed as the response status in the Event Console.
